Having listened to Lar Nielsen's theory, I prefer the original Nielsen:

Re: Thomas Stuart Ferguson (May 21, 1915 – March 16, 1983)

I often wonder why the church members just don't do a mail-in campaign and ask the current lead "prophet, seer and revelator" to just put the stinkin' peep-stone in the hat already and ask the Mormon god where the Book of Mormon setting is. Maybe it doesn't require the head prophet to do it. Just s...

What does God need with a star ship, mall, billions of dollars?
Money, of course. God can't run the universe for free for Pete sake. It costs a boat load in electricity to keep all those galaxies turned on and glowing.......

Re: Interpreter 2.0?

No clue, I thought it was an odd thing to say. Doesn’t fit in with his usual gripes about us, so it could be some other nefarious force of The Adversary. A while ago an acquaintance told me about a meeting called for all members of his department at work. It seemed that there had been a lot of back...

Dang, for that price I might even try it. I sure hope it doesn't send me to Alaska or Siberia however.......

New Documentary by BYP on Cosmic Buddhism

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3ZPPYSV3kI

One of the fascinating parts of Buddhism is the Cosmic Buddhism thread. In this colorful and beautiful documentary I explain the philosophical and religious themes, and share a bit of science as well. Come and enjoy.

Re: New Documentary by BYP On Shamanism

Yes Huck, if I was at home with my library I would have included Black Elk in Shamanism. So far as a pure tradition I suspect there isn't any since it strikes me as being more of a spiritual system with lots of differences between cultures.

when all else fails and they know they can't win, the apologists always go for a stalemate via relativism.
Perhaps they then feel they can punt to possibilities and save themselves......eventua.............lly................. just give it time, a Nephite ruin WILL be found..........

Re: Seeing Things Differently -DanP the apologist excuse.

The Book of Abraham is objectively a fraud, but the more important subjective faithful Mormon lens allows you to see it as a revelation from God. This works really well to turn any falsehood into a truth. No evidence that COVID vaccines kill people? Well my subjective truth tells me it does. Like I...

Re: FAIR: New “Me, My Shelf, and I” pod series

Does this mean FAIR thinks the official Church essays haven’t done a good enough job? Of course. The church essays fool no one except those who already need to believe and therefore do so. It's patently obvious the essays are a flop. FAIR won't be able to help the sagging credibility is my predicti...
