Re: (Auto)biographical Dictionary of MDB/DM
I'm a relatively recent and peripheral member of the community, so I can't talk about anyone else, but of course I can submit a short bio for myself once you have a format settled.

Re: Why was the Book of Abraham written in Egyptian and not in Greek?
Gee is the expert here, so what I would ask him is: when the Egyptian priests were accessing these Jewish and Christian documents, what languages were they in? From what little I have read about that, those documents were in Greek, the Septuagint being the primary example. Of course, there is nothi...

Re: Latest Survey Ranking U.S. Presidents
Why don't those so-called "historians" value narcissism and psychopathology as Presidential virtues? They don't value James Buchanan's inaction during the run-up to the Civil War or Andrew Johnson's sabotage of Reconstruction, either. Given his avatar, Ajax may well disagree with them on that score...

Re: The Trump Criminal Case MEGATHREAD.
It obvious that the court is trying to delay Trump's trials further. Smith asked in December to skip the DC circuit and have the Supreme Court hear this appeal immediately to get this nonsensical appeal shot down immediately; they refused. Then, after the DC circuit writes a thorough opinion shootin...

Re: John Larsen leaves Mormonism (again)
Not to mention the man who nearly became Trump's attorney general, as Res Ipsa pointed out several months ago: Here is the part of the conspiracy that is most chilling to me: 80. Also on the morning of January 3, Co-Conspirator 4 met with the Defendant at the White House—again without having informe...

Re: Latest Survey Ranking U.S. Presidents
Shortly after Trump left office, a historian named Stephen Kantrowitz neatly summed up the reasons for considering him the worst: He combined "Andrew Johnson's fierce racism, Warren Harding's blithe corruption, George W. Bush's callow ineducability, James Buchanan's refusal to confront the mortal pe...

Re: Review of Muhlestein book on Sanctioned Killing
I expect there is still at least a rough consensus of sensible thinking about what we can believe confidently about ancient Egypt, about what we really don't know at all, and about what things in between count as plausible hypotheses. Maybe sometimes an idea can run up the charts quickly, from craz...

Re: Jesus is a Roman god
In one of your earlier posts you mentioned Isis had issues with Roman authorities. Why is that? Why would a Roman leader like some deities they had conquered but despise others? What did Jesus have that Isis didn't? The cult of Isis arrived in Rome in the days of the Late Republic, when Egypt was s...

Re: If plates then God
Peripheral issues, as I’ve mentioned a whole lot of times now here and there, are secondary to the primary issues. Folks that would like to either ignore or deflect from the critical importance of primary issues will move to secondary issues in order or with the intent of avoiding the primary issue...

Re: House Republicans in Disarray
Why do you think the moderates were willing to back him if he's more extreme than the others? From what I've read, it sounds like the people who opposed Jordan did so more because he is personally obnoxious than for policy-based reasons. Johnson is just as crazy as Jordan but not as much of a bully...
