Re: LDS Missionary held on rape charges
This guy has to own his own actions. I will say though that missions can do things to your mind. You are denied all healthy outlets and given special status in the church. It's not a very good combination. I had a companion that got sent home for being alone with a woman we taught and baptized after...

The LDS Church is not a fraud. It is an exorbitantly expensive social club with an expensive entrance fee: 10% of your income for life. Fortunately, they use an honor system to monitor follow through on that commitment. It's difficult to say cause circumstances would be so wildly different, but I o...

I've seen it repeated that activity isn't better around a temple, but tithing receipts go up. I assume perhaps there is more pressure or desire to have a current recommend if there is one close enough. I'm back to listening to a podcast that does a bit of comedy on current events. Anyway a week or s...

Re: Israel
In other words, if the protestors fortified themselves against the violence of police and counter-protestors, that was the excuse for dispersing the protestors with militarized police using tear gas. I saw a funny quip. I guess a NYPD spokesperson or captain said something about how they must be ge...

Re: The Trump Criminal Case MEGATHREAD.
Oh, is Trump maybe too old to be president then? I guess he had "executive time" every morning before showing up to the Oval Office.

Re: The Trump Criminal Case MEGATHREAD.
I thought I remember that some of the documents Trump had were nuclear related which are classified as a matter of law. E.g. no president can declassify statutorily classified information without following a process which Trump did not. So even if we allow wide latitude for he can just think things ...

Re: Biden's Classified Documents
The Hur testimony and transcripts really turned this into a nothing burger. Of course Hur was able to sidestep some of it, and the conservative media is still running with their spin, but for the adults in the room it was pretty devastating. Of course Jim Jordan and Comer would never dream of holdin...

Re: Lindsay Stirling?
Who is Lindsay Stirling? There is a famous violin playing dancer Mormon Lindsey Stirling. Clearly this is a troll. If not the good thing is his daughter is already planning to leave Mormonism and I'm guessing she will cut off her toxic parents as well. Nowacatholic and his wife will be wondering why...

Re: RFM and Washington State Bar Complaints
At least I guess this will result in yet another entertaining episode smacking down abuse of bar complaints. As drumdude said you might have saved yourself a lot of trouble or at least better prepared your complaint if you took the time to listen.

Re: Supreme Court Puts Trump Back on the Ballot
I can hate it and still accept it was going to be the outcome. I can also see why deciding the other way is problematic.
Relatedly it feels like the Supreme Court would cause the least chaos if they decided the presidential immunity sooner rather than later.
