Re: Is there now an Unwritten Church Handbook?
The new online manual makes them look more transparent and undoes some of the looney stuff. However, behind the scenes I am sure policies will be instituted through leadership training that will be just as looney but kept off the books. Lying for the Lord and what not will trump the online manual. K...

Re: When will missionaries be instructed to stay home?
When I was a diehard TBM mishie, no quarantine would have stopped me. I was that guy who was like: "The Lord commanded me to deliver a message of his gospel and I will not back down because of corona virus. I have faith that God will protect me! Let's go tracting post haste!" I was definit...

Re: Calling "BS" on DCP's Buckley Story
It seems that there are multiple ways to interpret the new information that has been coming to light. Has the plausibility of DCP's story increased? I think it's fair to say that, yes, it has. But it's unclear how "good" that is for BYU and the Church. Sure: I can see how Prof. P. et al. ...

Re: Only 6 LDS prophets are not sealed in polygamous sealing
Richard Scott who was in the quorum of the 12 and considered a prophet, seer, and revelator, was also only sealed to one wife. Many members of the 12 begged him to remarry but he refused. Is it really that easy? Or was he offered a wife, like Ronald Poelman? Interesting. I have never heard this sto...

Re: Elder Anderson - Church experiencing explosive growth.
With the explosive growth of the church and of missionary work across the world, he added, “the power of the marvelous work and a wonder is right before our eyes.” m Explosive growth? Sure. Why not. I'll bite. Maybe the church is experiencing explosive growth, but are they experiencing explosive re...

Re: Geoff B from Colorado - suicide claims are lies.
This was an interesting comment: Blame Dehlin on January 31, 2016 at 11:18 am said: I blame John Dehlin. This revelation was never meant to be revealed. If Dehlin hadn’t revealed it, the suicides wouldn’t have happened. The blood is on his hands. Dehlin can't be blamed because he didn't reveal it. ...

Re: Church PR sanitises Gina Colvin out of write-up.
I am surprised that an organization as big as the church can fail to employ a PR Dept. who actually understands the Streisand Effect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streisand_effect . This is simple PR 101 in the 21st Century. The church's PR will continue to shoot themselves in the foot every time du...

Of course Neil A. Anderson thinks Navajos are Lamanites. Like a a good obedient Mormon, Elder Anderson has probably never even read or touched non church approved material. HAHAHA!

Re: Missionary numbers declining rapidly?
This is not surprising to me. Basic Elementary school math could have predicted the surge isn't the new normal. TSCC shot itself in the foot by trumping the awesomeness of the surge as some kind of new trend. By dropping missionary age from 19 to 18, all they did was create a condition where mission...
