Re: Numbers...

So, you see the pattern then. No magic. Sigh. Marcus is about as clever as a toilet lever. Whose to say a toilet lever ain’t clever. :P Bears repeating, as does the fact that the magnitude of the earthquake that landed Moroni’s instrument was a 5.7. Thank you for supplying yet another datapoi...

Re: Numbers...

Not weird, not magical. You just need to understand the properties of numbers. Do you need help with this set also? I'll give you a hint: 7×3 = 21, 4x3 = 12. 7x6 = 42, 4x6 = 24. 7x9 = 63, 4x9 = 36. 7×12 = 84, 4×7 = 48. Correction: replace 7 with 12 in the last line. So, you see the pattern then. No...

Re: Numbers...

Numeral Number Nine is indeed weird. (42/7) x 4 = 24 (No wonder 24 is a magic number, said the magical man.) ⚔️ Not weird, not magical. You just need to understand the properties of numbers. Do you need help with this set also? I'll give you a hint: 7×3 = 21, 4x3 = 12. 7x6 = 42, 4x6 = 24. 7x9 = 63,...

Re: Numbers...

Digit reversal from 72 into 27 is a new thing for me. Divide by 8 and multiply by 3 in the one case discovered so far. Can you find another member of this set. :?: 09 to 90. Divide by 1, multiply by 10. 18 to 81. Divide by 2, multiply by 9. 27 to 72. Divide by 3, multiply by 8. 36 to 63. Divide by ...

Re: Russell McGregor: Online Mopologist Extraordinaire

Wow. Did you see how he defines the quora exmormon page?
“Exmormon,” which is a “Hate Propaganda Only” space:
That's a quora page, just like the one he posts his stuff on. I can't imagine that the quora management team appreciates that.

Re: Lars Nielsen's "How the Book of Mormon Came to Pass"

I think Brian Hales is advocating that Joseph Smith was an autodidact, a savant, and also God’s Plume. I dunno. His point was muddled given the topic of this thread. - Doc So...Smith was dumb for a smart guy, but also smart for a dumb guy?! Muddled, yes. Apropos to this thread, Hales did list the S...

Re: Lars Nielsen's "How the Book of Mormon Came to Pass"

Hi, I just thought I'd throw in an additional piece of the puzzle that is historical and as factual as we can achieve these days: https://journal.interpreterfoundation.org/joseph-smiths-education-and-intellect-as-described-in-documentary-sources/ Thanks, Brian Aside from tutoring by his brother wou...

Perfect, moderators. I wish I would have thought of it. Every time MG steps into a conversation where people are arguing facts, and turns into phil 101 questioning if we can know anything at all, you should totally split that post and all responses off and put it here. It's the ultimate derail. Tha...

Re: Thomas Stuart Ferguson (May 21, 1915 – March 16, 1983)

Thanks for the post, Sock Puppet. My main issue is that you're giving a one-sided account. Poising the well, anybody? Okay, so great, we have a Mormon American lawyer and amateur archeologist who spent his life in Mesoamerica digging and not finding anything, and then losing his belief in the Book ...
