Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

99.9999% of the terrestrial biomass is 560 billion tons of dead stuff. Surely some of that would have left a remnant. In fact it should have left a very obvious layer. If you inundate water on hillsides, deserts, and other areas not normally subject to a lot of erosion to the point of creating a glo...

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

The Yangshao, Sumerians, Samarra, and Hassuna cultures called. They are wondering why they didn't get invited to the party. One of the most ironic views of the whole debate is held by those who believe that evolution never occurred, and yet obligate carnivores went from being vegetarians to carnivor...

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

Huckleberry, There are numerous mass extinction events evident in the geological record. When huge masses of living organisms simultaneously die they create a strata layer. Why would this mass extinction be any different? Floods also create a marked sediment layer and the sediment layer from a recen...

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

Hoops I'll make your argument for you. You'll reference: 1 Gen 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And Gen 9 3 Every moving thing that liveth s...

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

Ok, then correct my errant thinking. Please elucidate. And by way of clarification what I am asking is show that the Biblical record speaks of a local flood. I know that geologically there were numerous large flood events at diverse times across the globe. Shoot and by way of more clarification, if ...

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

My point is to disallow the "weasel out" option of saying "ah, but the flood was local." The Bible states all life on the face of the Earth, so let the literalists defend it. I'm not defending it, not today. You couldn't defend it by that statement if you wanted to. The "fa...

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

Explain without a miracle, divine intervention or magic, how a the ecology of the planet rebounds after being destroyed. The Earth was under water for around 100 days, how there is any eco-systems left once they disembark? The Bible very explicitly states that all terrestrial life was destroyed &quo...

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

Hoops, there isn't a supposition among those I posted that is not common to the young Earth , creationist crowd. And you supposing that I do not know the Bible is also in error. I know it well enough that the church used to pay me to teach it to your kids.

Re: ScienceWhopper:Natural History According to Jeffrey Holland

Oh Iv'e studied it quite well. Ok Hoops how did all the animals get into the boat and what did they eat? What are the logistics? Why should I do all your work for you? Open a book. Which book? The Bible only says he took 7 of the clean beast and 2 of the unclean. Doesn't mention how they arrived at...
