Re: An odd case of liberal intellectual honesty on COVID

I honestly have trouble believing mr A-H is not the sock of one you "libruls" making fun of trumplican, double cultists who get all their information about the world outside their crappy little holler from right-wing rage bait for simpletons... Well if so, he's kept the act going consistently for y...

Re: Just be a guy for 5 seconds, okay?

Why would I lie about this? I wasn't trying to be safe (have you ever known me to pull punches?) I considered your question and what I wrote was the answer running through my brain. I've got no reason to lie about my opinion. One thing you alluded to that is absolutely true: I assess all individual...

Re: Just be a guy for 5 seconds, okay?

What about hair color? Do you guys have an opinion about natural vs artificial color? What if your female loved one decided to make her hair pink and purple. Would you be on board with that? My daughter has had almost every hair color you can get (well, probably not, but she's had a wide variety), ...

Re: Just be a guy for 5 seconds, okay?

Bolding... I can't say I prefer long hair to short. I just watched Working Girl the other day, a movie from the late '80s, and at the beginning Melanie Griffith has one of those huge '80s hair styles where the blow dryer is the main feature (and it does not look good). Part way through the movie, i...

Re: An odd case of liberal intellectual honesty on COVID

I've lost most of the respect I had for Bill Maher these last few years over his consistent idiocy on medical science. If you're taking Aaron Rogers seriously on medical matters (which Maher did on his podcast), something is wrong with you.

Re: Contrasting Easter Messages

We should crucify Trump and see if he resurrects. Then we'll either have proof he's divine, or he'll no longer be a problem. Win-win.

I think with scientific knowledge they can be putting the vase together and get a giraffe lol.
I wouldn't go that far. If I thought that, I wouldn't fly on a plane or use a microwave oven... or a million other things we all take for granted that we wouldn't have without science.

I thought of religions and knowledge like a broken vase.
That people try to put back together but some prices change shape because of perspective or pieces become lost and so you get kind of a vase but it's not right.
I love this analogy with respect to knowledge.

Re: Collaboration Between Artist and Audience

On the other hand I think most people hold very general ideas of God and respect the fact that there is a lot of unknown and mystery. It may be best to be cautious about filling in what you don't know with representations. But you and I don't know anything about any god, so we're left filling in ev...

Re: Collaboration Between Artist and Audience

Interesting post. I personally don't have a vision of what God looks like and I don't feel I have a general assignment of what God is like. I know we talk about God's love and all that. But deep down, I worry because I'm not entirely sure that God is anything like what Earthlings teach. When I pray...
