Re: Comparison of Lord of the Rings to Mormonism and Catholi
Tolkien was definitely Catholic. He was a close friend of CS Lewis, but broke off the friendship when Lewis married a divorced woman. Projecting my own experiences and beliefs into the books, I can see a concern about the USA's progression into the war being impeded by LDS influence.

Re: Drafting "100 Books Every Christian Should Read"
Augustine's City of God should be in there somewhere. I do not like apologetics, but there should also be more G. K. Chesterton. Maybe his fiction - The Man Who Was Thursday or the Father Brown stories. Probably the nearest recent equivalent was Andrew Greeley, with his Bishop Ryan novels. Greeley ...

Re: Utah Texan Strikes Back!
What makes you think it's UtahTexan? Because the story all lines up. LOLOL "I don't sway with the wind." He does whatever advances his personal agenda. If LDS can engineer successes in his life in order to get him to return, then it is God's doing. They targeted him for re-conversion beca...

Re: Trump's Cognitive Test
The presidency of the USA is in itself a test for very early Alzheimer's. Stupid tweets tell all. The Montreal test is not sensitive enough, particularly with high-functioning individuals. And the job of President demands a high IQ during that presidency, not ten years ago. In fact, test/re-test wit...

Re: The score so far (Health & Fitness)
Hmm. Interesting. Never thought of it quite this way, but it really sums up the differences between the two environments nicely. ETA: on a solo hike once and pretty far from any easy access to civilization or cell signal, I came quite close to giving an ankle a knockout twist. At that moment, the s...

Re: Why ExMos's turn atheist!
Well, it'd be nice if we can define what we're supposedly rejecting before we're accused of being extremists. For example, I'm fairly confident an uber-hominid occupying a planet near a star called Kolob doesn't exist. However, if you want to claim that a God or gods exist outside of our functional...

I took my three rounds around the building. Although the blocks of the sidewalk vary a bit, most of them are the same length. I can count steps, count blocks, and come to an answer through ratios.

Re: The score so far (Health & Fitness)
This week I don't have many events scheduled, and the weather is expected to be nice (relatively speaking). So I can walk around the building; it is boring, but I can stop in and see neighbors. Also nice to do around time the mailman gets here, so I can watch for him/her. I have some mid-calf boots ...

That I can do! Repetitive motion problems. Been trying to do bunches of different things to prevent pain in my hands. Cooking can be quite varied.Jersey Girl wrote:It's okay. We also have food ideas going on there!
"No spend" works when one is on "food stamps".
