Re: Eternal Promises

I am not really looking for a discussion of Joseph Smith children but I believe that there is evidence of Josephine Lyon also being a child of his. http://www.josephsmithspolygamy.com/images/ChartJSPossibleChildren.html . Either way I think it is true that his relationships with his wives were not a...

Re: MAD site is offline while "improvements" are discussed

IMHO, by far, the most likely reason for this "MADB on vacation" is entirely what it seems to imply (Improvements are being discussed). I have serious doubts that it has anything to do with other "rumors" that are being tossed about on this board. (Perhaps I am wrong) This MADB ...

Re: Eternal Promises

One of the things I am looking at specifically is whether or not Joseph Smith was performing ordinances (2nd anointing or other ?) for those that participated in polygamy in which they were promised exaltation at the highest level (calling and election made sure type of thing). Maybe as a reward for...

Eternal Promises

For most of you this will be a subject that has been talked about way too much. I am fairly new to the subject and ask patience from those that have answered the questions over and over again. I have a series of question regarding the relationship between polygamy and heavenly rewards as practiced b...

Re: William Clayton: wives of Joseph Smith

I am really enjoying this journal. Here is another entry that is interesting. 16 May 1843, Tuesday "He said that except a man and his wife enter into an everlasting covenant and be married for eternity while in this probation by the power and authority of the Holy priesthood they will cease to ...

1 Says he just keep her at home and brook it and if they raise trouble about it and bring you before me I will give you an awful scourging & probably cut you off from the church and then I will baptise you & set you ahead as good as ever. What does this last sentence mean? I'll give you a h...

Re: Why vote in church if it means nothing?

I always looked at it as a chance to actually move one of my limbs during an otherwise boring and repetitive hour and a half meeting. Other than that it seems to serve no useful purpose. The few examples, that can be cited, where anyone took note of a dissenting vote only serve to illustrate what a ...

Re: A really good thread on MADB (for asbestosman and Tarski)

I am actually glad that Rob was/is so obstinate. Most of the math was beyond me, but occasionally I could follow one of the proofs or examples given and the light would go on. So thanks to all in the post, even Rob.
