Re: Some general questions about General Conference.
So nothing, Conference hasn't moved you forward in either knowledge nor deed than where you would have been at without it? Of course it has; according to your own quote, I have "received guidance and encouragement from Church leaders about gospel living based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.&...

Re: Some general questions about General Conference.
The church is a waste of time. There is little to be gained in attending those boring and useless meetings that go on and on saying the same old boring stuff and will turn you into a zombie. Jesus is not coming back. Joe was wrong on all counts. You don't need blood and sacrifice to get forgiveness...

Re: If the Book of Mormon is true then, well, you gotta beli
But the thing is, the simple act of "not believing" is perceived by the leaders and members as an attack on the church and Joseph Smith. Not true. Anybody who has tried to leave the church because they no longer believe has experienced this. Also not true. Have you ever heard of anyone qu...

A “witness” is his own proof. He does not require a proof. The only option you have is to believe him or not believe him.Lemmie wrote:And your proof of this?

Re: If the Book of Mormon is true then, well, you gotta beli
If you don’t want to “believe,” that is okay, you have that choice, you are not obligated to. But when you start accusing him of lying, of perpetrating a fraud, as the critics have been doing, then the burden of proof shifts on them, not on him or us. What are we supposed to make of Joseph Smith if...

Re: If the Book of Mormon is true then, well, you gotta beli
God took the trouble of providing such witnesses so that no such accusations can reasonably be made. Which one of the "credible witnesses" were capable of reading "reformed Egyptian"? They were shown the plates by an angel, and the voice of God declared to them out of heaven tha...
