Re: Joseph Smith & Calvin Stoddard Assault
The more I read about church history as a faithful member, the more I felt like I was reading about high-conflict, high-drama people with poor boundaries who weren't the kinds of people I would associate with, let alone trust, or give money to. At some point you have to wonder why God would hatch a ...

Lol. Correct that the image is of a Scottish character. I'll get around to seeing the movie at some point. I picked it for the hair, since I'm a curly-haired, freckled ginger.

Re: The world table ...DCP tooled
I followed the WT at the very beginning of it. The points or whatever they were and then, people fighting over them and misusing them. So stinking adolescent. Why on earth do adults need "scores" anyway? This. The reputation system turns the focus from the ideas being weighed and consider...

Re: Catholics beat Mormons again: Irish Same-Sex Marriage Vo
One has to wonder about the possible effects in the US of this constitutional change to support marriage equality in a predominantly Catholic country like Ireland, especially given that six of the nine Supreme Court Justices are Catholic. It will be interesting to see how it plays out and affects t...

Re: Catholics beat Mormons again: Irish Same-Sex Marriage Vo
I studied abroad in Ireland, but most of my interactions there were with students and musicians, and an admittedly-liberal bunch. I'm glad to know that they are not the exception in their attitudes.

Re: Do you ever think on returning to Mormonism?
I miss little, possibly nothing, about my time with Mormonism. I enjoy good memories about specific people and activities, but there's not a chance of that motivating me to return. I can't even take the thought seriously enough to envision what that would look like. I've had a much better life outsi...

My eye caught this line first, and I had to do a little double-check via google to make sure ibtimes wasn't a business-focused spin-off of The Onion.
