Re: How Good is the MTC at Teaching Foreign Languages?
My experience with language learning is that there's no one right way to do it and different styles work better for different people. The MTC probably works very well for some people, ok for others, and horrible for the rest. They probably do as well as they can teaching people at the MTC given thei...

Re: The Jesus Myth: An unrelenting case for history
He appears to have lived, but that is not the important question. The important question is whether he was resurrected or not. Perhaps that's the point of the entire exercise, to avoid the important question altogether. If one gives an unreasonable answer to the former question, the latter question...

Re: In which Jim Bennet and Jacob Hansen discuss their Differences on Mormon Book Reviews
I watched the "debate." Jim Bennett needs to always turn his camera off because he looks like a spoiled child when discussing. Having said that, they both have completely untenable positions. So, it's no surprise when people who have untenable positions, that are also different, can't have a discuss...

Re: The Church didn't feel obligated to fill in that box
Is there a link that doesn't require a subscription? A couple of questions. There is in China the phenomenon of "ghost cities," cities built that have almost nobody living in them. There's lots of reasons these exist, but one is the fact that if you want to invest money in China as a Chinese citizen...

Re: Dispensationalism and Mormonism
So ... Dispensationalism in Mormonism (at least what is seen today) is built on two issues. First, premillenialism was a part of early Mormonism's restorationism. Second, the idea of dispensations was used in particular in the debates between B.H. Roberts and Joseph Fielding Smith over the age of t...

Re: A Mopologetic Tactic Backfires Yet Again at "SeN"
So the contrast here is Carthage, which is now a Mormon tourist attraction, versus Nauvoo, which is . . . a much bigger Mormon tourist attraction? I have no doubt Joseph Smith is far better known than Thomas Ford, but you would be surprised how many people neither know nor want to know about Joseph...

Hugh Nibley would be very proud of the extensive parallels you have shown.

Dispensationalism and Mormonism
TL;DR: Does anyone know of a resource, free or paid, that deals with the development of dispensational concepts in LDS thought? My general question revolves around the fact that dispensational conepts/vocabulary in LDS thought tends to mirror the history of American Christian dispensational thought....
