Re: Church Stats -Very Comprehensive!
Well the data shows that there are 26000 members in Italy with 19000 inactive ,probably much higher, but does a negative growth rate, rate the saints there getting a 50-100million dollar temple? i suppose so-now let the Mormon tours to italy thrive because nothing else seems to be helping! And why ...

Re: An Unusual Turn of Events
He was a complete a**hole on here and treated people horribly. Then, his story is told in General Conference and he’s suddenly their new poster boy for a saint who’s seen the light and returned to the fold. Didn’t they parade him around having him speak everywhere about his reconversion? Nauseating...

Re: Authoritative LDS Validation of import of 2nd Watson Let
Does this David Palmer character trump the standard works? Because the LDS scriptures say the hill from which Joseph Smith snagged the golden plates was the Hill Cumorah mentioned in the Book of Mormon: CUMORAH, HILL See also Book of Mormon; Moroni, Son of Mormon; Smith, Joseph, Jr.. A small hill lo...

Re: The stone rolls forth: Church is closing 12 missions
My mission is one of those being closed. It’s quite the contrast from the time elder oaks visited and prophesied an “explosion of converts”. Guess that never happened. No doubt he conditioned his "prophecy" on the faithfulness of the members and missionaries within the mission boundaries....

Re: Audio of Bill Reel's Disciplinary Council
I see Kish's point. If we who oppose the unethical practices employed by the Restoredchurchofjesuschristians in their "courts of love," how can we claim any moral high ground? People will justifiably dismiss our message out of hand if we stoop to the church's level. It's for this same rea...

Re: Audio of Bill Reel's Disciplinary Council
The NDA is not worth the paper it was printed on. First, to be a valid contract there must be a meeting of the minds; i.e., all the parties to the contract must be freely entering into it. Where there is an absence of this, and where the church is solely dictating the terms of the contract, the law ...

Re: Any guess if Bill Reel’s Disciplinary Council was record
Could it be that Mormonism really is in its last days as it tries to figure out how to survive? It wouldn't surprise me to see half of the current membership walk away within the next few years. The church is actively trying to thin the ranks all while maintaining, for PR purposes, the illusion of ...

Re: Two Hour Meeting Block: Predictions
More generic prediction: Strengthen the Family : Pretty much every church decision these days is justified by the platitude that it is to "Strengthen Families". If the move to a 2-hour block is going to strengthen families, has anyone asked the Mormon prophets why they have been weakening...
