Elizabeth does the concept of personhood mean anything to you?

Re: Moved: THISandThat
The partaking of the fruit of the tree of life by Eve transformed her immortal body to mortality and subject to death. Adam then also partook of the fruit so that he also would become mortal. Our Heavenly Father then commanded they leave the Paradise of Eden and enter earthly mortality, reproduce and provide our Heavenly Fathers chosen immortal Spirit children with mortal bodies whereby they too could enter a trial period previous to judgement to determine further progression.

That was a bad plan. Eat an apple and become mortal, which then forces you to have to eat more apples.

We would not have been able to obtain a mortal body to undergo our earthly trial in order to progress, if the immortal bodies of Adam and Eve had not been made mortal... this they knew, and this was the sacrifice they made for us.

Actually, I liked the LDS take on that story.
But, either way, ‘God’ is God, and can set up any plan as wished. There would be no need for this sort of odd multi-step kind of trickery in order to set humanity on its path, if that was the plan. in my opinion, anyway.

Re: Moved: THISandThat
LDS mythology side steps the traditional view that is omnipresent by saying the Third Personage is omnipresent. Never mind the fact that omniscience and omnipotence would involve omnipresence if an omnipotent being chose to be so. Too many logical holes here.canpakes wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 4:40 pmActually, I liked the LDS take on that story.

Eternal Law is unchanging and requires strict obedience. Even our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are subject to Eternal Law. Those who have earned resurrected bodies cannot be returned to a mortal state by force or trickery, only they themselves can allow such a sacrifice.

OK.
But, could not have God just said, “Hey, guys! Eat this apple; it will impart mortality unto your immortal bodies because that’s how the Eternal Laws of the Universe apparently work. Apples are more powerful than I am, and are a great source of fiber, which you’ll need because I didn’t fully work out the whole digestion thing. That, and the bit with a talking snake trying to trick you is just not right. Sorry that I even considered it.”

To keep pesky mammals at bay, Irish Spring soap can be added to your garden as an inexpensive repellent, since animals find the stench unpleasant.
1.) Slice the Irish Spring soap bar into 1/2-inch cubes with a knife. These do not have to be exact, but you’ll want many small chunks to spread around your garden.
2.) Drop two pieces of soap into each drawstring pouch, pull strings tightly to close, and tie the strings in a knot to secure the soap inside.
Irish Spring soap repels mammal pests. It does not repel insect pests.
