Read msnobody's post after my original mention of Mouse a Cookie. It has a link. Use the link and listen. It'll calm you down.

Anyway, I went back through and found the link to which you referred. I see now that the phrase is supposed to be "GIVE A mouse a cookie."

No, actually that's part of the title of the book. The phrase isn't "supposed" to be anything when you're making it up on the fly and it becomes shorthand between yourself and staff in the classroom.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 11:43 am"Calm me down?"Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 9:56 amRead msnobody's post after my original mention of Mouse a Cookie. Yes! You want to get all your yarn for one project from the same dye lot. To be fair, I've never tested it out by buying from mismatched dye lots but I heard it just like you did. Must be a universal truth.Marcus wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 10:53 pmSomewhat off topic, but it's the same with yarn. All skeins for a project have to be from the same thread dye 'batch,' which is printed on the label, below the color code. I have no idea how I know that, but when my son wanted me to make him something it kicked in. I suspect the knowledge is from my mom or grandma, may they rest in peace.

Re: Home and Garage Organization
So Cass from Clutterbug came up with a new mantra to help people develop self discipline with regard to how to handle "stuff".
She and Dawn from Minimal Mom have offered the following in the past:
Eat the Frog!
Eat the Ice Cream!
Don't put it down, put it away.
Among other concepts...ad now with regard to to horizontal surfaces (countertops, entryway tables, and floors), we are to consider those areas where random stuff accumulates as...
Red Hot Lava
Seems a little clumsy but I get it. If you were following the don't put it down, put it away rule, you wouldn't have to worry about Red Hot Lava. Just putting it here in case someone can use the idea.
This connects to the idea of a place for everything and everything in it's place concept because the random stuff probably doesn't have an easy to use "home".
Another problem (and folks may find they identify with this) is family members who won't cooperate with the various concepts. Then you're basically shoveling snow in a blizzard.
