Counting Our Blessings.
I thought it might be nice for us to have a space where we can share positive and uplifting moments, experiences, things we are thankful for in our lives and even positive things we think of others here should you wish. Just a safe space to think about the beautiful things in life and in the universe. Bragging fully welcome
Like maybe a daily or whenever moment to stop and think about something positive and uplifting, i.e. counting our blessings.
Please feel free to share things that inspire you, that makes you smile, that are affirmations, blessings etc.
So, some positive little things from my day today...
My husband went to the supermarket on his way home and brought my favourite snack. I love bombay bad boy pot noodles. I used to eat them every day. But when we are visiting family the Bombay bad boy pot noodles taste totally different it's probably something subtle or the water but they have to taste a specific way so when there I don't eat them. So it was nice that he thought of me and picked one up now that we are home
The kids get diamonds (not real ones obviously lol) when they do something that I feel is positive and when they have 20 the can pick a small thing from Amazon. But it made me smile that I had already cleaned the kitchen counters and [daughter] cleaned them again and actually made them feel less clean but she did it on her own accord without being asked and it was just nice. So, even though I had to go over them again when she was doing something else, she still got a diamond.

Re: Counting our blessings.
I like this idea! I had to look up Bombay bad boy pot noodles and they look like some of the things we have here...Cup O'Noodles or Ramen. There's other types but that's some of the names.
I love the idea of earning the diamonds! Kind of like earning treasures to buy an Amazon treasure! Also love that you noticed that P did the job on her own without being asked. Children make such remarkably responsible and charitable gestures if only we adults would stay out of their way! They are capable of far more than adults give them credit for. They want to be involved and learn what adults know how to do...when we adults stop dividing up learning areas (math, science, etc.) into curriculum components as if they are separate and apart from each other, and simply observe and look deeply when children are at play...what they are actually doing is playing at LIFE.
And that my friend, is the secret to a good early childhood education. Let them play and stay out of it!

Re: Counting our blessings.
So counting my blessings today...
This is the day when the Boy works at the church food pantry so I have time alone in the house. I absolutely live for solitude! Today I woke up earlier than usual so I had more time than usual to do whatever with no television on, the windows open, and just listening to the sounds of birds outside and whatever else ends up yapping out there.
(Sometimes on a day like this I put on my Anne of Green Gables and let it take me to another time and place.)
My kitchen table has been covered in wrapping paper (blank side) for wow...maybe three months now when we had one of my famous "Paint and pie" days over here (with two of our adult kids) where you get to paint something and eat pie. I keep changing the paper out as I need to and that's where I'm working on crafts that are painted because I need the sink. So today I cleared the whole table (random stuff always piles up there) and used it to work on my upcoming crafts---those candy apples I posted about.
I loooove doing that in total solitude, with some sounds of nature and the breeze coming in. It's perfect! I can't describe how much I love a day like this! It makes me feel somehow "whole".
I might do some house work...probably not!

Yeah pretty much the same we have those noodle cups too. They love earning diamonds.[ Daughter] learns them faster than [son] and usually when she comes close to getting her prize it spurs [son] on to try to catch up lol.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:59 pmI like this idea! Tonight we played monopoly and that's great for getting her to try to count up money. She always gets the best properties though. I'm sure she must cheat lol (just kidding). I'm still the boss at connect 4 though.

Aww that sounds like heaven. This time of year is great for bird sounds here because it's starting to get darker which means the sun is rising later and we can hear them in the morning more. We play nature sounds on Alexa, often rain sounds.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 10:08 pmSo counting my blessings today...

We've had paint on the table (and floor) today lol. [Son]made a star wars plane and painted it and [daughter] just paints the world lol. Our table ends up piled up too lol. Paint and pie sounds soo cool. I'd have never thought of something like that. Might have to steal that idea (perhaps not with pie though, paint and pizza might work).
Your post has made me smile. Thanks for sharing.

Today I am thankful for the lovely sun that came out whilst we were picnicking at the park with friends. It threatened to rain before we got there. We were there for 5 hours and not one, "bored" comment was made. It was lovely.

Something nice I noticed today, I put a little house plant into a bigger pot a couple of weeks ago and it's sprouting new shoots. I decided I wanted a BIG house plant but didn't want to pay the price so I wondered if the plant I had would grow taller and it is.

Re: Counting Our Blessings.
It's a really nice day today. Took kids to a foreign food shop they were so excited at all the things they've never seen before lol. We found some unusual cakes. They've decided they want those instead of birthday cakes. Which I'm all for. They are like loaded with cream and fruit. I took pics. Which I'm all for because they are cheaper than birthday cakes but look tastier. And also, you don't have to book them. You just go and buy what you like.
