Making an atomic trampoline.
Aww great news very scary indeed. I've had GA 3 times the first time I was at uni and it didn't faze me at all. Second time was emergency and like crazy fast and no time to think. But the last time, OMG, the fear. I was so scared that I'd die and never see my kids again even though I knew it wasn't a serious op. I think having kids makes it all more terrifying. I have reactions to anaesthesia so that worried me too. I think the older we get the more nervous we get.
I’ve never been under, the idea of it really freaks me out lol. That you just teleport in time however many hours in the blink of an eye unnaturally is creepy. But more so the idea that if you die, you’ll transition to that state without any awareness. If I have a scheduled surgery I’m definitely taking benzos to deal with the anxiety.IWMP wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:08 pmAww great news very scary indeed. Any way, great news. I hope she recovers well.
That's very good news! Assuming she did so for heart arrhythmia. Hope whatever issue it was that this solves the problem nicely!
If it helps anything, I've technically died well over 20 times from having electrical cardioversion--heart shock to correct heart arrhythmia I get sporadically. They put you under with propofol. Propofol is the absolute bomb!drumdude wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:17 pmI’ve never been under, the idea of it really freaks me out lol. Imagine going under one second and then being greeted by dead Mormon missionaries in the spirit world the next
Yep, she’s been having a-fib episodes for a decade or so. Recently they had to give her amnio(sp?) for the first time, and I think it has lots of side effects including fatigue. So her cardiologist recommended this as a way to get off most of her arrhythmia medications and remain on blood thinners only.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:50 pmThat's very good news! Did you ever have any NDE type experiences?Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:54 pmIf it helps anything, I've technically died well over 20 times from having electrical cardioversion--heart shock to correct heart arrhythmia I get sporadically. Funny I never thought of being greeted by dead Mormon misshies. Yikes!
I don't know, I perceived the passing of time, although, not the entire length of time. And I also remember dreaming once and tried to tell them I was dreaming when I woke up. It's a bit like when you go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. I think what happens is that you forget, rather than you don't experience. Memory after can be a bit sketchy though. Haha, the last one I had, they took my pants off because my bladder wasn't working and gave me a catheter. You can't go home til you can empty your bladder but it wouldn't empty. Anyway, I didn't put my pants back on and I forgot I didn't have them on and forgot that I wasn't wearing a gown. I had a dressing gown on but it was open and I went to the toilet and the nurse giggled and I didn't think anything of it. It wasn't until I went to sit on the toilet that I realised I walked through the ward with nothing covering my bottom half. That was embarrassing. Thankfully it was the women's hospital lol.drumdude wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 10:17 pmI’ve never been under, the idea of it really freaks me out lol.
