Egyptians held a firm belief in an after-life as evidenced by their pyramids, tombs and elaborate burial preparations and rites. This firm belief is shared with Christians who anticipate much the same post mortal existence; without the pre-elaborations.
However, the exception to “elaborations” is found in the Mormon sect of Christianity. Mormons go to what might be seen as extreme investments and investitures in Temples and Temple Work, (ordinances/rites).
This Mormon uniqueness is intended to assure a Mormon entry into the Celestial Kingdom of Heaven. The very highest degree of glory wherein God dwells.
The Celestial Kingdom is reserved for non-others but faithful Latter-day Saints (Mormons). Each of whom must accept Joseph Smith--who, to Mormons, restored the authority of the original primitive church--as Prophet, Seer, and Revelator of the one and only church ordained to administer the affairs of God’s Kingdom on earth in this new, and last, dispensation of God’s involvement in the affairs of mortal man.
As well as Joseph Smith, all succeeding Mormon Prophets must be accepted as God’s only oracle on earth.
Re-wording will be appreciated, if it improves the honesty of the above. Thanks for ALL comments...Warm regards, Roger
