So let me get this straight; because some scientists optimistically hypothesized - more like mused - about extending the current life span well beyond a hundred years in the future, you take that to mean that Moses (who probably didn't even exist, by the way) could have lived to be 120?

If anything is ridiculous in this current exchange, it is the idea that Moses "probably didn't even exist." Moreover, 120 is within the current maximum lifespan of humans, so that does not even require a small stretch.

Others may disagree, but I see Adam and Eve as literary devices and not necessarily as historical personages. In Genesis 1:26-28, it speaks of humankind being created at once, not just two people.

Do You see gods/Your_Only_True_God/the_many_god_defined_up_to_now as literary devices ?

Was Noah a literary device?
Was Abraham a literary device?
Was [take Your pick from any scripture (including Quran, Iliad, Lord of the Rings, Book of Abraham)] a literary device?

Where is the border between the real and the imaginary characters?
When does any person - long accepted as real - become literary device? A little after his/her/its reality become no more defendable?

Was Prometheus a real man or god or demigod or was he a literary device? Don't forget, he is linked to the trojan war (something proved to be historical, about 1200 b.c.) by Heracles (who was a demigod, too).

I like the LotR and similar tales. Their locales and heroes do exist during reading. Unfortunately, they disappear when I close the book. Fortunately, the books can be opened again and again.
