Re: Missionary Tracting Policies and Procedures

On my mission we never received instructions regarding avoiding openly homosexual people as potential investigators. For the most part, I was just thrilled I encountered someone who was interested in what I have to say.

If a neighborhood was known to be dangerous, we were told to avoid it. I served my mission in the Philippines and we were not allowed to leave the house on New Years simply because so many people were drunk and rowdy. That seems like common sense to me.

Of course, you always have to account for the fact that the typical missionary is about as sophisticated as a high school graduate - because that's what most of them are. I'm sure that, more than any other fact, influences the kinds of neighbors and investigators they find.
