You mean to say DrW is not yet another Willsock? I laughed out loud again. That would be only the second time Will was funny. Scratch one. I mean minus one.

Don't know any Darricks or Willsocks.

Glad to hear that someone got a laugh, though.

The quality of this leadership over time is indicated in the number of its actions, teachings and doctrine that must be repudiated, denied, or changed by the prophets, ignored by the members, and excused by the apologists.

So we haven't always been consistent. Except for the overly stringent reaction regarding homosexuals, we seem to have regained our footing and are on the right path. Look at all the pro-humanity things said at the General Conferences. They far outnumber any bloopers. As President Hinckley may have said, when we are headed in the right direction we shouldn't mind stepping over any flecks of cow pies along the path.

We should take comfort in knowing that Jesus forgives.

When one resorts to "keeping score" regarding good vs. bad policy statements, how can one then claim that the LDS Church is the only true Church on Earth and lead by divine inspiration, especially when there are Churches that score much higher in terms of declaring and promoting policies of which Jesus would approve?

Far from simply stepping over the occasional policy dung pile, it seems to me that the LDS Church has an uncanny talent for seeking them out and stomping around in them for inordinate periods of time.

Example can be provided upon request.

It was a comedy of errors that started on the say of one man, who was not a Church official, at a time during Winter Quarters when it was worried that a particular black elder might horn in on the polygamy action. The comedy of errors continued for 134 year, during which much speculation was added to the original error.
