Sure, it defeats the object of going to any church, but there will always be those who do it for various reasons. It's not the church's fault that some will be dishonest in this way.
If the person that stole Just Me's Dads wallet went on that day to do an endowment for a dead person does it count?
The church seems to think so. I remember a pedophile who was guilty of his crimes while being a Patriarch. They told everyone including my niece and nephew that they did not need another blessing, that the blessing would be honored. I know it was an excuse, and that it brings up a lot of problems, but I don't think they wanted a new patriarch to do many years worth of blessings.

But...here's the rub...the Priesthood supposedly only works if the one wielding it is worthy. So endowments/blessings done by unworthy Priesthood holders are not valid. Else one need never be worthy to do anything involving the Priesthood.

ummm....in this context what you be saying here is not quite true....for example, the "Priesthood" at it applies to the sisters receiving endowments....who do you consider is exercising the Priesthood in that regard?...This should illuminate the idea of worthiness in association with worthiness.

Thanks for reinforcing the point. Whoever stole the Wallet of Just Me's Father was clearly not worthy. So what were they doing in the temple and how do we establish which endowments etc need redoing because the proxy person was not worthy?

According to Mormonism the priesthood ordinance is really based on the AUTHORITY and not so much the worthiness issue. If a man holds the priesthood and has the proper credentials to go to the temple and perform work he may do so and all his work is valid. It's kind of like a crooked cop doing his regular job even though he himeself isn't worthy of the job and would lose his badge if he was caught. Once you have the priesthood and you've been assigned to the work the ordinance remains valid. I suppose there have been exeptions to this when ordinances have been redone to allow certain people to get warm fuzzies and feel better about the outcome.
