Let me recap for you subby,
In the OP I asked where John the Baptist got his Priesthood authority.
You subsequently bumped your gums for a while and offered up a scripture which seems to say he got it well before the age of accountability, the age of Priesthood eligibility. In fact, well before he cut his first tooth.
Let me guess, your explanation is "magic dunnit"...

Your most glaring fallacy is THIS whereas you are trying to contradict the ordination of John with the practice of the Church, and many churches, today. The manner by which God introduced Priesthood to the earth is not the subject of your OP inquiry....simply put, you asked where John got it, and that was clearly answered.
No gum bumping necessary, though that method is likely more palatable to you.

So...you can't explain it...huh...

No, I didn't miss it.
I just thought the scripture was clearly wrong as you have to be at least 12 years old to receive the AP and 18 years old to receive the MP.
How does a new born child accept the Priesthood? Could he talk? Was a nod of the head good enough? John the Baptist wasn't even old enough to be baptised when Joseph Smith claims he got the Priesthood.

“Master!” I said, shocked.
“So it is, Adso. And there are even richer treasuries. Some time ago, in the cathedral of Cologne, I saw the skull of John the Baptist at the age of twelve.”
“Really?” I exclaimed, amazed. Then, seized by doubt, I added, “But the Baptist was executed at a more advanced age!”
“The other skull must be in another treasury,” William said, with a grave face. I never understood when he was jesting.

Re: John The Baptist
“Naming of children and circumcision of male members of the house of Israel took place on this [eighth] day. In the case of John, he ‘was ordained by the angel of God at the time he was eight days old’—not to the Aaronic Priesthood, for such would come later, after his baptism and other preparation, but—‘unto this power, to overthrow the kingdom of the Jews, and to make straight the way of the Lord before the face of his people, to prepare them for the coming of the Lord, in whose hand is given all power.’ (D&C 84:28.) That is, at this solemn eighth day ceremony, an angel, presumably Gabriel, gave the Lord’s Elias the divine commission to serve as the greatest forerunner of all the ages” (Bruce R. McConkie, Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, 3 vols. [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1966–73], 1:89)
How he received the Aaronic Priesthood is not known but I would assume it was by an angel and when it was time.

Re: John The Baptist
John the Baptist's father was Zacharias and he was a priest who worked in the temple so I always thoght that John got the priesthood from his dad. I can just see him now sitting in a chair with his white shirt and tie all reverent and being a good example...
