Re: On Women and Priesthood (YetAgain!)
That's a ridiculous statement. Churches don't wield the priesthood. God gives his authority to mankind and that is the only source that matters or counts.

And that's why the Book of Mormon is written on the back of a matchbook.

Wields...uses...exercises....has...substitute whatever word you want, my point is the same....the Mormon Church has neither the Levitical nor the Mechizedec priesthood. One single Biblical verse that demonstrates that anyone outside the tribe of Levi held the Levitical Priesthood. One single Biblical verse that anyone other than the one for whom the priesthood is named and Jesus himself ever held the Melchizedec Priesthood. The Mormon Church needs to repent of its wholesale usurping of the holy priesthood that only Christ is worthy to hold and by which he become the only high priest for all time....a non transferable priesthood that is his alone.

.....according to the doctrine of men.
It is very far from established beyond all reasonable doubt that there are any doctrines available to us that are not of men (unless, of course, by "men" one means only doctrines authored and originated by the males of our species).
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Hi Gunnar!
Exactly!! Which, of course, is why I seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost in order to identify God's Truth and to have more parts of God's Truth revealed to me.
Blessings,

Well, I certainly agree with you that women are not any less (or more) likely to be right than men, just because of their gender, or any less (or more) likely to receive "the guidance of the Holy Ghost" (assuming that there is such a thing) than men. And I definitely agree that men should not be any more entitled to the priesthood or leadership positions than women only because they are men.
