I don't think any of the accounts were written that day, but Ezra Booth's account was published within five months so it is quite contemporary.

That is very interesting. Fun to read the accounts.

Why are the accounts of the 1831 Conference more compelling and believable than the story of the African woman who claimed she flew 75 miles in a winnowing basket with two witches on a mission to kill her brother-in-law?

Is it because the participants in the 1831 Conference were white Europeans?

Could some of them still be alive (like St. John and the three Nephites are believed to be)?
