Man this Mihalj guy really hijacked this thread. Anyway, I'm looking into this whole polygamy was a mistake subject. Is there any documentary evidence Joseph felt this way beyond Marks' say so?
No. Mark and grindael tend to distort things quite badly. At least grindael will cite sources. The sources won't say what he represents they do and he's been known to only partially quote sources to make it appear that a source supports him so make sure you read the whole thing, but at least you can look at something. I think after one or two times of grindael misrepresenting something you'll come to the conclusion he isn't intellectually honest in the slightest.

You just have no comprehension skills Toby. I think those space aliens fried your brain. But then, that's ok, lunatic rantings can never change the facts. Remember, just cause you say it, don't make it so. I've noticed in all my time here you have never deconstructed one of my offerings. Wonder why Toby?

Actually, I have disputed your citations many times. All Water Dog has to do is read your latest brain-fart in this thread to see EXACTLY what I'm talking about. The material you cited does not shows Joseph Smith thought polygamy was a mistake, despite your misrepresentations that it does. You're grasping for things that aren't said (or misquoting things to portray them the wrong way by taking them out of context) is why I think you are completely dishonest and without scruples. You are not an honest scholar despite your pretenses to act like one. You have zero credibility with me and is why I ignore what you have to say.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. You have no comprehension skills. I did not claim that Joseph Smith thought that polygamy was a mistake, far from it. He doubled down on it.
I said, "Smith may have confided in some that he regretted polygamy, but I would not count on it."
What I said that he may have REGRETTED it on his way to Carthage. :), which was a joke. You have not shown how I have taken ANYTHING out of context or misrepresented anything. All you do is rant and call people names. But that's ok, I know can't help yourself. So, please keep on ignoring me like you are doing now, oh... you don't know what ignore is either, do you genius?

All I see is that you'll never tire of speaking out of both sides of your mouth. And since you don't understand the ignore feature on this forum, I'll explain it to you. Your name is still listed and I can read your comments if I click on your name and choose read them. In your case I usually don't because it is pseudo-scholarly nonsense. And I see no reason to discuss anything with a fraud like you.

That's because you have no credible responses to what I post. But that's ok, keep slinging the mud, it's all you have you poor thing.
