If you are going to go on a cruise to the Middle East with an LDS scholar, you could hardly choose a better person than Dr. Peterson. He is undoubtedly one of the most learned, eloquent, and personable professors working at BYU today. And I say this as a person who really doesn't like a number of the things he has done as an apologist. This, however, is something completely different. God speed, Dr. Peterson. I hope the journey is a success.
I hope we'll make the headlines!
given the headlines - it's really not a good post and painful for some families - the families of the two missionary couples that were recently murdered in the area.

Obviously, I wouldn't have shared this with those families. I'm not quite the heartless and unthinking wretch Scratchite demonology claims me to be. But then, I don't actually think they read this board.
Come on. I'm not going to genuflect before politically correct humorlessness. It isn't going to happen. So if this is just yet another wearisome attempt to paint me as a callous villain, I wish you joy of it.

I don't think you had any malice when you posted it. I have a lot more time to read the news.
P.S. on another note - I see as I respond that "Scratchite" is underlined in read. Does that mean that it really isn't a word or will it be found soon in an urban dictionary.
I'd go Dan, if there is any chance you and I could fight off Bandits side by side like a couple of Turkish Janissaries wading through a crowd of terrified Mamluks.
"Six attacks in 4 days was more than I expected. I bagged three pirates and my 12yr old son sank two rowboats with the minigun. PIRATES: 0 - PASSENGERS: 32! Well worth the trip. Just make sure your spotter speaks English" -- Donald, Salt Lake city Utah USA
With testimonials like that, this is certain to be a hit in the retelling at F&T meeting. Additionally, there is always the chance of capturing some golden treasure.
