Re: better not to Marry
Jesus, via the gospel writers, could be very cool to young Mormons: no marriage in heaven (so no guilt or shame that you didn't get married in an LDS temple) and you get to wait until you are thirty for baptism.

We would be paligemeist if we married in heaven. Because Christ is our bride. I wonder what the Mormons think of the Christ bride thing.

Re: better not to Marry
We do know that the admonition not to marry was ignored by all the branches of the early church. Even without a rite of marriage ceremony, people still paired up (some early Mormons even quintupled up).

What? no. The church is the bride and Christ is the bridegroom.

Oh, ok. I was like, huh?
So, do you believe that it is better not to marry and to remain celibate your whole life?

So, do you believe that it is better not to marry?
No I don't. I do place allot of respect in Paul being honest in saying this is not from god. But from my experience. He goes on to sy how hard life is when your married with children. He made a personal thought and was honest enough not to lie and sy it was from god even though he felt strongly for it. I chalk this up to the man. God ofcourse celibrates marriage and sex. And does it in a way that we as prude Christians would not expect. Breaking all bars from the marriage bed. "the marriage bed has no bounds". But I do truly belive that I am Christ bride and so is my wife. His idea of marriage is to show the ultimate love. A god, like Hosea, seeking out his wife in prostitution. And saying. I don't give a @&$)&. Your my wife and I will always love you. And drag your ass back to me a hundred times after you cheated And seek you and bring you back into the same fearless love. He is the man in the song of songs that seeks ecstasy, pleasure with his wife. I do think this verse places it as a very valid option and that the church should celebrate a man or woman that says no. Marriage is not for me.

Jason Bourne wrote:dogmatic wrote:What do Mormons do with Paul saying it's best not to marry and also that there will be no giving in marriage in hevean. Does Joseph rewrite this?
Why was Paul so misogynistic? Why did he hate women and marriage? He was likely married at some point. Did he have a bad marriage?
Why did Paul think Jesus was coming so soon and tell people that it was better to not marry? Did you know that this was one of the main reasons he said what he said? Why did he get it wrong about Jesus coming?
The anti-woman passages weren't written by Paul. Many of the epistles attributed to Paul are forgeries.
