I am, and I'm answering the hypothetical question with a hypothetical answer. I find it an interesting question in regard to strength of faith.

Real life? Never! My wife would kill me!!!

It is interesting, for sure.

What I am curious about is these men who don't seem to love their wives very much. Like all she is just a chess piece. If I was a man and someone had the balls to ask me to "give" my wife to them I would shred them with my vicious, vicious words.

Hey Drifter,

The Prophet of your Church has received a revelation that some of you male true believers need to allow him to marry your wife and be sealed to him for time and all eternity.

Would you allow it?

Without a hint of hesitation, NO!

I probaby would even bloody-up some lips.

It boils down to a question of faith. If you truly believe that the messenger of God is telling this, then what are you going to do? Incur the wrath by disobeying?

Actually, I was once approached by a man who wanted to buy my girlfriend of the time from me. I used a little more than viscous words to get my message across.

Well, you'd know for certain that the messenger was not from God. It's only men that see women as things.

This does seem to be a completely different animal from the OP.

Exactly, how much money are we talking about here? :)

your flame threads put forth that only intend to mock the LDS church have begun to reveal your true character.
How does the absurd and juvenile hypothetical in your post merit sincere discussion?

i mean to say, why would i not allow it?

i believe this forum allows for a poll to be taken if you are just "curious"

I find it interesting that you recognized who he was referring to, and that you don't consider Joseph's behavior as celestial. I agree with that. His behavior was worthy of the telestial

May God have mercy on you, because any woman worth her salt would not.

Just who do you think you are, to "allow" such an abomination? Is your wife a thing to be shared around? Do you not see the hand of man in this?

It is good to be king:

Brigham Young: If a woman claims protection at the hands of a man, possessing more power in the priesthood and higher keys,if he is disposed to rescue her and has obtained the consent of her husband to make her his wife he can do so without a bill of divorcement.

Jedidiah M Grant: If such a man of God should come to me and say, ‘I want your gold and silver, or your wives,’ I should say, ‘Here they are, I wish I had more to give you, take all I have got.

What would a man of God say, who felt aright, when Joseph asked him for his money? He would say, ‘Yes, and I wish I had more to help to build up the Kingdom of God.’ Or if he came and said ‘I want your wife?’ ‘O Yes,’ he would say, ‘here she is, there are plenty more.’

Sucks though when you are at the bottom of the totem pole and lack access to the plenty more.

Now compare that to the parable Nathan gave to David about sheep.

Uriah had a little lamb........

Why was this ok for Brigham but most LDS say what Warren Jeffs and his ilk do is abhorrent?

It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Good point.

What it was a test of faith, like Abraham with Isaac?

It was around $300, and that was the early 90's.
