If he had a disciplinary counsel and then a week later he went to the temple...I've never heard of that happening before, to be honest. Seems that he was found not-guilty of any major sin that would keep him from the temple.

Have any of you guys who have served in leadership heard of someone having a DC and then going to the temple a wee later?

I would like to know the same thing. I found that very odd. To be exact, he told me in early Oct (around the 5th) that he was going to have the disciplinary counsel and then on Oct 19 he went to the temple.

And no, he is not related to anyone in a high church position.

i have witnessed one confess to a sin that happened years prior, then a month later, after exercising repentance, a temple recommend was deemed appropriate.

A DC was held for it? Thanks for sharing your experience.

All this brings up another interesting question. How often do people lie when being interviewed for a Temple Recommendation? I doubt that there are actual statistics (a poll), but it would be an interesting fact to know.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I know it happens. There are a lot of people too embarrassed to admit to mistakes, or are simply just dishonest.
I just want to know if it's even a possibility to get a recommend so soon if the person *is* honest about sexual transgressions.

I was surprised to find out he had a temple marriage so soon after he was not living worthily... But I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he wasn't completely truthful about his past.

It's sad, but ultimately it's between him and God.

I imagine that the whole thing was an unpleasant experience for you. It sounds like you may be much better off in the end.
