Nope. James Ford had two sons who died young.
And many of the criminals in that area changed their names, easy to do in that day. In fact, one father killed his own son who returned after many years with $$, not knowing who the man was. His mother dug him up soon after his death and found a birthmark.
The book ends in about 1835-- by that time law enforcement was more effective, so-- they dispersed-- with their skills.
