His reasons are what they are. Just like Christ fed the masses and healed the sick. The crowds followed not for the word or the miracles but to be fed. He wants to be fed as well. He feeds his own ego. There is no attempt to understand anothers point of view.
He seeks to understand a belief but he fails to understand he is already awash in beliefs as well. Those who are fooled by the world can not see how they are fooled. Such is the trap of the flesh. It is very powerful. And unless you seek to see past it it will forever block your vision. I know there is no seeking the truth from him. He settled a long time ago for something which gives him comfort.

FrankTalk is not a Mormon. He believes in Original Sin as defined by Catholics.

On what grounds do you hold this belief?

It's hard to have respect for people who will try so hard to avoid simple questions about why a person believes a, b, or c. As a missionary we would not get very far if we tried these tactics. Again the only person I have seen be open and honest about their spirituality is Gordon on a thread in the terrestrial. What I see as disingenuous is frank and subby dodging real issues that have a major bearing on why people believe certain things. Both think they should get a bye when making any assertion.

So you say. But I am sure there are many things you say that don't apply. I keep wondering why the people of the world keep trying such childish things to effect my faith. In following the most common tactic keep throwing stuff against the wall hoping something will stick. But a nice effort.
A belief does not have to have reason or evidence. I wonder why you keep acting like it does. Can you comprehend that someone can hold on to a belief with no evidence at all? Can you comprehend that just maybe there are truths that one can hold onto that the soul just knows to be true? I think not. So because of this wide valley between us there is not much to say. It is as if we speak different languages.

I think most of us understand this. This is what we call blind faith. It's all you had to say from the start. I know people who believe based on no evidence, and that's fine.

Just knows? This is really the same as what you say above. Belief without evidence, and know is just being used as a feeling, instead of a statement of evidence based knowledge. The problem is I can find multitudes of people who will agree with you about the soul knowing some truths. The only problem comes when you try to get them to agree what those truths are. How would you know what your soul/spiritual experience is getting the right message or interpretation. This is what you haven't really dealt with.

you misunderstand Drifting's 2 rules for true belief: 1. Everyone's belief requires substantial evidence and proof 2. Drifting's beliefs are exempt from rule #1.
