Re: Zeke Johnson Sees Resurrection
I know this thread is a few years old, but I am listening to a recording of Zeke Johnson himself telling this story. My wife's grandfather recorded Zeke telling this story, among others, on January 14th, 1954. He recorded it on a 1/4" audiotape reel and recently asked me to transfer it to CD because I have the capability of doing so. It is the only known audio recording of Zeke telling this story personally. The story as accounted above is about 98% exactly the same words as what is on this recording, so it was definitely originally transcribed from this. As to the truth of the story, it really comes down to whether or not you believe Zeke Johnson. Having listened to his voice tell the story, I believe him to be an honest man and that he didn't just make it up. But anyone can know the truth of all things through the testimony of the Spirit.

It's quite a coincidence that you bumped up this old thread this week, dwood. I found myself thinking about this story today and was going to search out the thread myself.
How amazing that you've gotten to hear a recording of Zeke telling the story in his own words! Is there any way that you or your family would be interested in sharing that recording? Either by sharing with individuals, or posting an Mp3 somewhere online? My interest in it is as a kind of Mormon "lore;" it is an interesting and beautiful story whether or not anyone attaches any veracity to it.
