Ah well, I guess that just goes to prove that Joseph Smith Senior wasn't a prophet (or maybe he was having a bad day). I don't know anyone in the Church that thought he was, but you have demonstrated without a doubt, for anyone out there that might have thought he was, that he was not on that day. Now he might have been a prophet the day before or the day after. That is still up for debate. But, certainly he was off his game that day.
"You lack vision, but I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night.... Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see. My God, it'll be beautiful." -- Judge Doom

A patriarchal blessing is the inspired and prophetic statement of your life's missiontogether with blessings, cautions, and admonitions as the patriarch may be prompted to give.... Receive your patriarchal blessing under the influence of fasting and prayer, and then read it regularly that you may know God's will for you" (Ezra Taft Benson, "To the 'Youth of the Noble Birthright'," Ensign, May 1986, 43-44).
I think I detect a pattern here. I believe grindael believes patriarchs are prophets. And since not all patriarchical blessings seem to come true (like when you throw a penny in a wishing well), that definitely proves something. Usually it proves throwing pennies down wishing wells isn't a good idea, but there it is.

"Thou shalt live to see the redemption of Zion and rejoice upon the goodly land..."
Excerpt from a Patriarchal Blessing of Matthias Cowley, given by Uncle John Smith, 26 March 1845
"Thou shalt live to see Israel gathered in fulness - the City of Zion built in Jackson County, Missouri, and the House of the Lord, and the cloud rest upon it, according to the Revelation."
Didn't happen. They both died. And even if they had lived it still didn't happen.

Funny how there is so many of them, isn't it? That is Mormon "prophetic inspiration" for you.

They must be putting a lot of cognitive dissonance in that Mormon jello these days.

They should have been better people. If they had, they might have made it. We'll never know. Maybe God had in mind for them (if they had been better), something amazing like that. Personally, I would have asked for a free sea-doo or house in the bahamas.

Nah, it's not me that thinks so, it was Ezra Taft Benson. I believe he was one of your "prophets".

Not really. It is more an example of grindael's game of let's set up a bunch of straw-men and knock them down over and over again. Wasn't that fun? As I said, not really.

It wouldn't matter for whether they lived or not it still would have happened. And Edward Partridge died as Presiding Bishop of the Church. But if you say he should have been a better person, I'm sure you are in an intimate position to know and judge him.

They are only "straw men" to someone that has no way to explain them. Don't be so pouty, you always have the jello.
