On the other you are advised to stay away from the fringe elements of Mormonism and stick with the mainstream subjects as well as avoiding anti-Mormon material and discussions.

I would think you are a minority of one. I think it would be unwise to encourage TBM's to come to this site in hope of somehow enhancing or strengthening their testimony. My first exposure to this and other similar sites were a result of desiring to understand some critical aspect of the church. This and other sites have not strengthened my faith or testimony, but then again I do think differently that bcspace.

Okay. You get to prove yourself not a liar.
Post us the 1800's references for mild barley drinks being:
1. Sweat (or sweet) drink treat
2. Slightly strong non alcohol drinks
3. Slightly strong extremely low alcohol drinks

Nothing. But Drifting implies he knows the answer so why doesn't he say it? Doesn't matter for purposes of this thread. We are in the now no matter how much Drifting wants to set it aside. Nothing has been added to or taken away from the WoW in the time we've had R rated movies and such ratings have not been consistent. In other words, you'll have to deal with my example on how I agree with ldsfaqs whether you like it or not. You'll get no better answer from me as long as you keep trying to change the goal posts.

Still bcspace avoids answering the question.
Why?

I'm asking because you said:
Other things such as chastity, the forbidden items in the WoW, and tithing do not move.

You seem to want to change this to:
Other things such as chastityy, the forbidden items in the WoW, and tithing do not move today but they might have moved since yesterday and they might move again tomorrow.
Is this closer to what you meant to say?

In the 1800's
Mild barley drinks = contains alcohol
or
Mild barley drinks = didn't contain alcohol

If you don't know the answer just say so...

It would have been a lot faster just to answer the question.

I think the avoidance of answering this simple question informs us of the problem bcspace thinks the answer presents for believing Mormons and also the level of desire that bcspace has for open discussion.

Answer the question they should have asked - is the motto in okay here.

Actually, YOU don't know what mild barley drinks meant in the 1800's.

I'm beginning to think he doesn't. He asked the question as if he knew the answer. What he's actually trying to do is imply that the WoW is as changeable as how movie ratings are determined and since he knows he can't do that, he's changed the subject.

Ya, he thinks it refers and only refers to "beer"..... haa haa

I remember some grandparents I had once had a couple of different kinds of "barley drinks", NONE of which were beer or even alcoholic. Barley drinks among the common man is almost non-existant now, but where very common back then, talking non-alcoholic kinds.

He does the common anti-mormon mistake of placing his modern social conventions, knowledge, and understanding on the past, when the past is an entirely different reality. So, he falsely assumes that barley drinks back then must have been beer, when they weren't.

This is one of the keys to how I learned "more" about Polygamy and the Priesthood ban concerning blacks and women. I studied the issues, history, and the scriptures closer, and came to know the actual truth of the issues, rather than placing my own modern social convention of everythings racist and polygamy is about sex.
