12 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
The Bible says Jehovah created our spirits and we are children by adoption
• Ephesians 1:5 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
• Galatians 4:5 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
• Romans 8:15 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.•
Romans 8:23 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
• Romans 9:4 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
Justice = Getting what you deserve Mercy = Not getting what you deserve Grace = Getting what you can never deserve
Genesis 46:1-34 Jacob, also known as Israel travels first to Beer-Sheba --- sacrificing to God, as his father Isaac had so long ago. Jacob has a dream where God tells him not to be afraid --- go to Egypt. God tells Israel that He will build a nation there and will be with Israel there. So Jacob, his sons wives and children rode in the wagons furnished by Pharoah. They take their cattle, acquired in the land of Canaan, and all go to Egypt. And these are the names of the sons of Israel who go to Egypt beside Jacob: Sons of Leah whom she bare to Jacob in Padan-Aram, and Dinah his daughter; all the persons of his sons and his daughters [are] thirty and three. First-born, Reuben --- sons: Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi Simeon --- sons: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul son of the Canaanitess Levi --- sons: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari Judah --- sons: (Er and Onan counted though died in the land of Canaan) , Pharez with his sons Hezron and Hamul Issachar --- sons: Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron Zebulun --- sons: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel
Sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and she beareth these to Jacob -- sixteen persons. Gad --- sons: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli Asher --- sons: Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah with his sons Heber and Malchiel, and Serah their sister
Sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife bearth -- fourteen. Joseph in the land of Egypt (wife Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, hath borne to him) Manasseh and Ephraim. Benjamin --- sons: Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
Sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter; and she beareth these to Jacob -- seven. Dan --- son: Hushim Naphtali --- sons: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
All the persons who went to Egypt born to Jacob equal 66. With Joseph's two persons. All the persons born through Jacob equal seventy (children and grandchildren). Judah is sent on ahead to Joseph, to get directions for Goshen. Joseph hops in his chariot, and goes to meet his father, in Goshen. Their meeting is very emotional. And Israel is very contented that he has seen Joseph. Now, Joseph tells his brothers that he goes to announce them to Pharaoh, for a formal introduction of them all. Now the family consists of herders and shepherds. Joseph has appearences to keep up and knows Egyptian customs. So Joseph tells the brothers, when Pharaoh come to visit and should ask them what do they do for a living, they are to say that they are all cattle-men. Egyptians loath shepherds and Joseph is concerned that they may not be allowed to stay in Goshen unless they bend the truth. (Note: Human nature seems to always to require schemes or a keeping up of appearances ---- just as true then as it is today)

Nipper, have you given any thought to how much data space you're taking up on the board server to post all this? I guess Shades would have mentioned it if it were a problem, but I can't help thinking that it is such a waste to post such voluminous material from a book we all already own.
I'm sure you feel that you are on a mission for God. Personally, I feel that you are on a mission for your own ego.
Maybe you're being a little selfish (not to mention foolish).
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Actually, people have gone on for pages and pages and often say nothing for all their trouble. A Bible study is always valuable --- if perhaps not to you, certainly to me. People may own a Bible, but do they read it ---------------------- I mean really read it. It took me a while to realize how the Bible arrived at 66 and 70. However, the infromation was there. Makes for a good math problem. PS> If you really are so concerned with the space being used up, why did you quote the entire passage again.

Excellent point! I'll be careful not to do that again. Once again, we've all read it. We all have our own interpretations. No need to try and tells us what we should believe.
Mathew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

And your judgment concerning what I'm doing is based on what exactly ------ an opinion perhaps? So far, you have not disagreed with anything I've presented from Genesis as in error. But there may be others who do not know how a Christian views the Bible or what the Bible passages mean.

Yes Nipper. All my opinions are just my opinions. I have no special knowledge of the truth. No need to take my opinions as anything more than that.
I think you may be wrong about people on this board not knowing how a Christian views the Bible. The people here are a pretty bright bunch. Most of them have done their own, very extensive research into the Bible and many other books. Each has come to their own conclusions.
What I've been trying to point out to you is that you may be less knowledgeable than most of the people here and you are kind of sounding a little adolescent. Have you ever heard the term "teaching your grandmother to suck eggs"?

Hello little nipper or anyone else who would like to respond,
Sorry I'm a little late on this.
LittleNipper wrote:Genesis 37:1-36 One night Joseph has a dream, and when he tells his brothers about it, they hated him even more. Joseph says that in the dream they were out in the field, tying up bundles of grain. Suddenly his bundle stood up, and the brother's bundles all gathered around and bowed. They saw Joseph as high and mighty. And they hated him all the more because of his dream. Joseph had another dream, and again he told his brothers about it. In this dream the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed low before him. This time he told the dream to his father as well as to his brothers, but his father scolded him.
The question I have is in regards to the 2nd dream. Jacob interprets the sun and moon as himself and Joseph's mother (who died giving birth to Benjamin). When in your opinion was this second dream fulfilled? As a believer in reincarnation, I believe that Joseph was a prior incarnation of Jesus so this prophecy will be fulfilled in the future.
