There, fixed it for you.

Wrong--these are not gods; these are sins. The passage specifically says gods. You're not allowed to change the Bible says just because you don't like it.
LittleNipper wrote:None of these among others are eternal; however, they are trusted by many much like yourself who do not have faith in the ONE TRUE GOD.
See above.
Whatever a man places his trust in becomes the god of that person's life. Whatever a man places ahead of God becomes his lord.
Job 38:1-41 Then the Lord answered Job from the tornado saying: "Who is this who confuses counsel with ignorance?
Get it together now, like a man I will quiz you, and you tell me the answers!
Where were you when I created earth? Tell me, if you know.
Who determined its size? Who stretched out the boundaries of it?
Into what were its supports sunk, and who laid its cornerstone, While the cherubs sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?
Who harnessed the sea, when it gushed out at its creation, when I designed the clouds as a covering and thick darkness its infant wrap?
When I set limitations on it and holding it back, and said: So far shall you come but no farther, and here shall the waves stop?
Have you ever during your life controlled the morning and shown the dawn its place?
Have you taken hold across the entire earth, until the wicked are shaken off it?
The earth is changed as clay by a mold, and dyed like material; but from the wicked enlightenment is withheld, and the raised fist is shattered.
Have you entered the sources of the sea, or walked about on the bottom of the ocean?
Have the gates of death been revealed to you, or have you seen the gates of outer darkness?
Do you even comprehend what is laying about in plan sight upon earth? Tell me, if you know it all.
Which direction dwells all of the light, and darkness—where is its spot ---- that you may move it to its territory and know the roads to its home?
Obviously, you know it all, because you've lived, and you hung around for a while.
Have you entered the warehouse of the snow, and the hail ---- which I have reserved for times of adversity, for a time of war and battle?
Where does do the winds split, where the east wind spreads over the earth?
Who has laid out a ravine for the downpour and a path thunderstorms to provide rain to uninhabited land, uninhabited wilderness; drenching desolate wasteland till the desert blooms with vegitation?
Has the rain a father? Who has begotten dewdrops?
From where comes ice, and who gives frost its origin in the atmosphere, when the waters lie covered as though with stone that holds captive the lake bottom?
Have you bound the Pleiades, or loosened the bonds of Orion?
Can you position constellations in their season, guiding the "Bear with her children"?
Do you understand the laws of the heavens; can you put their plan into effect on earth?
Can you speak to the clouds, for them to cover you with a deluge of waters?
Can you become familiar with lightning strikes, so that they say to you, 'Here we are'?
Who gives instinct, and understanding?
Who counts the clouds applying wisdom? Who withholds rain and then allows it to fall, so that the dust of earth is fused clods together?
Do you hunt the prey for the lion or appease the hunger of its cubs, while they wait in dens, or lie in ambush in the thicket?
Who provides nourishment for the raven when its young cry to God, wandering without food?"
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 And Jehovah answereth Job out of the whirlwind, and saith: --
2 Who [is] this -- darkening counsel, By words without knowledge?
3 Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, And I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know.
4 Where wast thou when I founded earth? Declare, if thou hast known understanding.
5 Who placed its measures -- if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched out upon it a line?
6 On what have its sockets been sunk? Or who hath cast its corner-stone?
7 In the singing together of stars of morning, And all sons of God shout for joy,
8 And He shutteth up with doors the sea, In its coming forth, from the womb it goeth out.
9 In My making a cloud its clothing, And thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 And I measure over it My statute, And place bar and doors,
11 And say, `Hitherto come thou, and add not, And a command is placed On the pride of thy billows.'
12 Hast thou commanded morning since thy days? Causest thou the dawn to know its place?
13 To take hold on the skirts of the earth, And the wicked are shaken out of it,
14 It turneth itself as clay of a seal And they station themselves as clothed.
15 And withheld from the wicked is their light, And the arm lifted up is broken.
16 Hast thou come in to springs of the sea? And in searching the deep Hast thou walked up and down?
17 Revealed to thee were the gates of death? And the gates of death-shade dost thou see?
18 Thou hast understanding, Even unto the broad places of earth! Declare -- if thou hast known it all.
19 Where [is] this -- the way light dwelleth? And darkness, where [is] this -- its place?
20 That thou dost take it unto its boundary, And that thou dost understand The paths of its house.
21 Thou hast known -- for then thou art born And the number of thy days [are] many!
22 Hast thou come in unto the treasure of snow? Yea, the treasures of hail dost thou see?
23 That I have kept back for a time of distress, For a day of conflict and battle.
24 Where [is] this, the way light is apportioned? It scattereth an east wind over the earth.
25 Who hath divided for the flood a conduit? And a way for the lightning of the voices?
26 To cause [it] to rain on a land -- no man, A wilderness -- no man in it.
27 To satisfy a desolate and waste place, And to cause to shoot up The produce of the tender grass?
28 Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
29 From whose belly came forth the ice? And the hoar-frost of the heavens, Who hath begotten it?
30 As a stone waters are hidden, And the face of the deep is captured.
31 Dost thou bind sweet influences of Kimah? Or the attractions of Kesil dost thou open?
32 Dost thou bring out Mazzaroth in its season? And Aysh for her sons dost thou comfort?
33 Hast thou known the statutes of heaven? Or dost thou appoint Its dominion in the earth?
34 Dost thou lift up to the cloud thy voice, And abundance of water doth cover thee?
35 Dost thou send out lightnings, and they go And say unto thee, `Behold us?'
36 Who hath put in the inward parts wisdom? Or who hath given To the covered part understanding?
37 Who doth number the clouds by wisdom? And the bottles of the heavens, Who doth cause to lie down,
38 In the hardening of dust into hardness, And clods cleave together?
39 Dost thou hunt for a lion prey? And the desire of young lions fulfil?
40 When they bow down in dens -- Abide in a thicket for a covert?
41 Who doth prepare for a raven his provision, When his young ones cry unto God? They wander without food.

You may not believe it, I can understand even figurative language structures in English. At least most of them. At least many of them. OK, some of them...

Who the hell let ludwigm loose in the Celestrial? I thought I saw him recently banded to outer darkness?

Please, ask the director of music...
The title of "music director" or "musical director" is used by many symphony orchestras to designate the primary conductor and artistic leader of the orchestra. The term "music director" is most common for orchestras in the United States. With European orchestras, the titles of "principal conductor" or "chief conductor" are more common, which designate the conductor who directs the majority of a given orchestra's concerts in a season. In musical theatre and opera, the music director is in charge of the overall musical performance, including ensuring that the cast knows the music thoroughly, supervising the musical interpretation of the performers and pit orchestra, and conducting the orchestra.
In the 20th century, the title and position typically brought with it an almost unlimited influence over the particular orchestra's affairs.

"For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the LORD made the heavens." (1 Chronicles 16:26). ANYTHING one places equal with or above the worship of God is an idol.

Thank you for providing a wonderful example of how the Bible contradicts itself.
What's the point of claiming god's word is inerrant if no one can write it down without screwing it up?
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately. --Yahoo Bot
I pray thee, sir, forgive me for the mess. And whether I shot first, I'll not confess. --Han Solo, from William Shakespeare's Star Wars

The Bible doesn't contradict itself. People who find no answer to supposed contradictions are not seeking God and are not reading the Bible as a means to comprehend Him. They take verses out of context and miss a much broader picture that God is revealing. It is like the man who opened a new puzzle box and took one piece from the pile and said," I don't see where this goes ---- it must be a defective puzzle." and promptly returned the box without ever trying to assemble it.
Don't look now, but Mormons say the same thing about the Book of Mormon. And Islamists say the same thing about the Quran. And Scientologists say the same thing about Dianetics. And Hare Krishnas say the same thing about the Bhagavad Gita.

This is one of the reasons why fundamentalist sects are so dangerous--because anyone who disagrees with you is automatically going against god.

Yeah...I hear this from Mormons, Scientologists, Islamists...etc.
Why does your god use the same arguments to prove his existence that all the fake gods use?
A real god would surely be able to offer something more persuasive than the unconvincing arguments of a fake god.
What conclusions can we draw from the fact that your god can only imitate fake gods?
