Nope--you're in deep, desperate denial of the fact that Martin Luther was the intellectual father of the Holocaust.

LittleNipper wrote:I am not a Lutheran because of some of Luther's questionable teachings.
You're saying you think genocide is a "questionable" teaching?

LittleNipper wrote:However, Hitler placed men in power and told them to get rid of Jews. He put laws into practice in order to "legalize" the murder of Jews and steal their possessions.
That's exactly what Martin Luther exhorts the princes of Germany to do to in On the Jews and their Lies, written by him in 1543.

LittleNipper wrote:Luther said that those who didn't believe Jesus to be the Messiah should know better, and spoke of the rabbinical priests and rabbis in terms that Jesus did. Luther believed that Christ's CHURCH (body of all believers) replaced the Jews with regards to the promises God made to Israel.
As a young man, Luther was sympathetic to the Jews. As he grew older, he turned into a monster.

You need to read these three books:

On the Jews and Their Lies,
Of the Unknowable Name and the Generations of Christ, and
Warning against the Jews.

If there's a hell, Martin Luther is in it.

LittleNipper wrote:I believe that this is not the case. I believe the CHURCH has been grafted in; however, the Jews will come to eventually accept Jesus as their Messiah and that all the promises that GOD made to Abraham WILL eventually happen for the Jews. I believe that the very existence of the nation of ISRAEL today is a sign that this is indeed the case --- and it will happen according to the prophecies in the Bible.
Your uninformed beliefs have nothing to do with the facts of Martin Luther's virulent, genocidal Antisemitism.

LittleNipper wrote:The fact is that you do not believe in Thor.
Thor said he was going to destroy the frost giants. I don't see any frost giants around, do you?

LittleNipper wrote:I do believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thor has a hammer. Jesus was nailed to a tree. What does that tell you?
Surprise, surprise, there is no divine mandate for the Church to discuss and portray its history accurately.

The bubbles on the heading with "liar" and "heathen" should be changed to this!

At least for LittleNipper's threads...
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

Psalm 15:1-5 The psalm of David.

Lord, who shall stay in your tabernacle; who shall reside in your holy hill?

He that walks uprightly; and works rightfulness. He that speaks truth from his heart; which did not deceive with his tongue.

Yes, he who did nothing evil to his neighbors; or was critical, or spread rumors, against them.

A wicked man is nothing in his sight; but he glorifies those that dread the Lord. He makes an oath to his neighbour, and does not renege.

He did not provide his money to swindle; and took no bribes from the innocent. He that behaves righteously, shall never be moved, or shaken, from his secure place with the Lord forever.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 A Psalm of David. Jehovah, who doth sojourn in Thy tent? Who doth dwell in Thy holy hill?

2 He who is walking uprightly, And working righteousness, And speaking truth in his heart.

3 He hath not slandered by his tongue, He hath not done to his friend evil; And reproach he hath not lifted up Against his neighbour.

4 Despised in his eyes [is] a rejected one, And those fearing Jehovah he doth honour. He hath sworn to suffer evil, and changeth not;

5 His silver he hath not given in usury, And a bribe against the innocent Hath not taken; Whoso is doing these is not moved to the age!

Psalm 16:1-11 A Secret Treasure of David

Protect me, God, for you are my shelter.

I say to the Lord, “You belong to me; separated from you I have nothing.”

I speak of the saints throughout the land, “They are noble and delight me.”

Those whore after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out blood offering to such gods or even speak of them.

Lord, you alone are what counts; you make my life secure.

Your limitations have provide for me pleasant places; my inheritance is delightful.

I will praise the Lord, who directs me; even at night my heart teaches me.

I keep my eyes on the Lord.
With him at my right side, I will not be swayed.

As a result my heart is glad and I rejoice;
my body also will rest in safety, because you will not abandon me in hell, nor will you let your faithful one rot. [b](This is speaking of the resurrection of Jesus)

You show me the road to life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, and eternal enjoyment at your right hand.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 A Secret Treasure of David. Preserve me, O God, for I did trust in Thee.

2 Thou hast said to Jehovah, `My Lord Thou [art];' My good [is] not for thine own sake;

3 For the holy ones who [are] in the land, And the honourable, all my delight [is] in them.

4 Multiplied are their griefs, [Who] have hastened backward; I pour not out their libations of blood, Nor do I take up their names on my lips.

5 Jehovah [is] the portion of my share, and of my cup, Thou -- Thou dost uphold my lot.

6 Lines have fallen to me in pleasant places, Yea, a beauteous inheritance [is] for me.

7 I bless Jehovah who hath counselled me; Also [in] the nights my reins instruct me.

8 I did place Jehovah before me continually, Because -- at my right hand I am not moved.

9 Therefore hath my heart been glad, And my honour doth rejoice, Also my flesh dwelleth confidently:

10 For Thou dost not leave my soul to Sheol, Nor givest thy saintly one to see corruption.

11 Thou causest me to know the path of life; Fulness of joys [is] with Thy presence, Pleasant things by Thy right hand for ever!

Psalm 17:1-15
A prayer of David:

Hear a just cause, Lord, listen to my cry; listen to my honest prayer.

Let my vindication arise through you, seeing the truth.

You question my heart, you visited me at night, and you question me without finding evil thoughts being expressed.

As for what others do, by words from your lips I have witnessed the destroyer.

My ways hold steadily to your paths, and do not slip.

Now I call to you, God, for you answer me. Listen and hear me.

Demonstrate the wonder of your grace, savior of those who seek at your right hand protection from their foes.

Protect me like the apple of your eye, hide me under your wings from the wicked, who attack me ---deadly enemies surrounding me.

They close their hearts to compassion; they speech is arrogant.

They track me down, they surround me; they watch for a chance to take me down.

They are like lions eager to tear the prey, like young lions crouching in ambush.

Lord confront them! Bring them down! Deliver me from the wicked by your hand, Lord from human beings, people whose only hope in life is this world.

You fill them with your treasure, their decedents will be content in leaving the wealth to their little ones.

But my prayer, in righteousness, is to see you; on waking, may I be satisfied with a vision of you.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 A Prayer of David. Hear, O Jehovah, righteousness, attend my cry, Give ear [to] my prayer, without lips of deceit.

2 From before thee my judgment doth go out; Thine eyes do see uprightly.

3 Thou hast proved my heart, Thou hast inspected by night, Thou hast tried me, Thou findest nothing; My thoughts pass not over my mouth.

4 As to doings of man, Through a word of Thy lips I have observed The paths of a destroyer;

5 To uphold my goings in Thy paths, My steps have not slidden.

6 I -- I called Thee, for Thou dost answer me, O God, incline Thine ear to me, hear my speech.

7 Separate wonderfully Thy kindness, O Saviour of the confiding, By Thy right hand, from withstanders.

8 Keep me as the apple, the daughter of the eye; In shadow of Thy wings thou dost hide me.

9 From the face of the wicked who spoiled me. Mine enemies in soul go round against me.

10 Their fat they have closed up, Their mouths have spoken with pride:

11 `Our steps now have compassed [him];' Their eyes they set to turn aside in the land.

12 His likeness as a lion desirous to tear, As a young lion dwelling in secret places.

13 Arise, O Jehovah, go before his face, Cause him to bend. Deliver my soul from the wicked, Thy sword,

14 From men, Thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, their portion [is] in life, And [with] Thy hidden things Thou fillest their belly, They are satisfied [with] sons; And have left their abundance to their sucklings.

15 I -- in righteousness, I see Thy face; I am satisfied, in awaking, [with] Thy form!
