When analyzing Chinese pictograms/ideograms and their radicals (component parts) - there are many extremely interesting similarities to the book of Genesis - to say the least.

The link Steelhead posted sums it up pretty well: "Looking at the 7 characters in question and analysing them CMI's way, it becomes apparent that CMI have made the beginner's mistake of seeing a semantic-phonetic compound as an element-indicative compound."

In other words, this argument only works if you misrepresent the meanings of these seven ideograms. It's like saying "god" can also mean "dog" because both words happen to use the same letters.

Littlenipper also mistakenly calls them ancient characters. They're not.

While this is 100% true, Christians are clearly not alone in this practice....it can be (and is) found with certain people from a variety of camps.

Agree 100%! Mormonism contains more than its share of fraud and misrepresentation. So does Islam. So do a lot of other faiths.

Wow--this is such a mangled and deformed account of the Taiping Tyangwo Rebellion (太平天國暴動) that it took me a few minutes to figure out what the heck the author was talking about.

In reality, the version of Christianity practiced by the Taipings bore little resemblance to today's generic Protestantism. Their leader, Hung Syouchywan, (洪秀全) believed himself to be the younger brother of Jesus Christ. He also practiced polygamy and produced what he called a "corrected" version of the Bible. In other words, he's much closer to Joseph Smith than a garden variety Christian.
