Psalm 72:1-20 A Song of Solomon.

God, provide your judgment to the king and justice to the king’s son; that he may guide your people with justice, the oppressed with right judgment, that the mountains may yield their bounty for the people, and the hills great abundance, that he may defend the oppressed among the people, save the children of the poor and crush the oppressor.

May they respect you as the sun, and above the moon every generations.

May he be like rain coming down upon the fields, like showers watering the earth, so abundance may flourish in his days, great bounty, till the moon be no more.

May he rule from sea to sea, from the river to the ends of the earth.

May his foes kneel before him, his enemies bite the dust.

May the kings of Tarshish and the islands pay tribute, the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.

May all rulers bow before him, all nations serve him.

For he saves the poor when they cry out, the oppressed who have no one to help.

He shows pity to the needy and the poor and saves the lives of the poor.

From extortion and violence He redeems them, for valuable is their blood in his sight.

Long may He live, receiving gold from Sheba, prayed for without cease, blessed day by day.

May wheat abound in the land, flourish even on the mountain heights. May his fruit compare to Lebanon, and flourish in the city like the grasses of the land.

May His name continue forever for as long as the sun, may his name last. May the nations of the earth give blessings with his name; may all the nations regard him as favored.

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who alone does wonderful deeds.

Blessed be His glorious name forever; may he blanket the entire earth with his glory.
Amen and amen.

Thus ends of the prayers of David, son of Jesse.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 By Solomon. O God, Thy judgments to the king give, And Thy righteousness to the king's son.

2 He judgeth Thy people with righteousness, And Thy poor with judgment.

3 The mountains bear peace to the people, And the heights by righteousness.

4 He judgeth the poor of the people, Giveth deliverance to the sons of the needy, And bruiseth the oppressor.

5 They fear Thee with the sun, and before the moon, Generation -- generations.

6 He cometh down as rain on mown grass, As showers -- sprinkling the earth.

7 Flourish in his days doth the righteous, And abundance of peace till the moon is not.

8 And he ruleth from sea unto sea, And from the river unto the ends of earth.

9 Before him bow do the inhabitants of the dry places, And his enemies lick the dust.

10 Kings of Tarshish and of the isles send back a present. Kings of Sheba and Seba a reward bring near.

11 And all kings do bow themselves to him, All nations do serve him,

12 For he delivereth the needy who crieth, And the poor when he hath no helper,

13 He hath pity on the poor and needy, And the souls of the needy he saveth,

14 From fraud and from violence he redeemeth their soul, And precious is their blood in his eyes.

15 And he liveth, and giveth to him of the gold of Sheba, And prayeth for him continually, All the day he doth bless him.

16 There is a handful of corn in the earth, On the top of mountains, Shake like Lebanon doth its fruit, And they flourish out of the city as the herb of the earth.

17 His name is to the age, Before the sun is his name continued, And they bless themselves in him, All nations do pronounce him happy.

18 Blessed is Jehovah God, God of Israel, He alone is doing wonders,

19 And blessed [is] the Name of His honour to the age, And the whole earth is filled [with] His honour. Amen, and amen!

20 The prayers of David son of Jesse have been ended.

Psalm 73:1-28 A song by Asaph.

Obviously God is good to Israel, and to those whose motives are pure!

But for me, I nearly slipped; my feet almost slid out from under me.

For I envied the proud, as I observed the prosperity of the wicked.

They suffer no pain; their bodies are strong and well-norished.

They are immune to the trouble common to most; they do not suffer as other men do.

Arrogance is their adornment, and violence their outfit.

Their prosperity causes them to squander; their motives are sinful.

They mock and say nasty things; they proudly threaten to harm.

They speak as if they rule the Universe, and lay claim to the earth.

They have more than enough to eat, and even suck up the water of the sea.

They say, “How does God know what we do? Is the sovereign One aware of anything?”

Observe! This is what the wicked are like, those who always have it so easy and get richer and richer.

I concluded, that vainly I have kept my motives and lifestyle pure.

I suffer daily, and I'm punished every morning.

If I had publicized these thoughts, I would have betrayed Your loyal followers.

When I tried to figure this out, it bothered me.

Then I entered God’s temple, and comprehended the destiny of the wicked.

You put them on the slippery slope; You bring them down to ruin.

How empty they become in a moment! Terrifying judgment makes their demise complete!

They are like a dream after one awakes. O Lord, when You arise you will despise them.

Yes, my heart was bitter, and my insides felt sharp pain.

I was ignorant, lacking insight; I was as senseless as an animal before You.

But I am continually with You; You hold my right hand.

You guide me with wise advice, and then You will lead me to a position of honor.

Whom do I have in heaven but You? I desire no one but you on earth.

My flesh and my heart may grow weary, but God always protects my heart and gives me stability.

See! Those far from You die; You ruin everyone who is unfaithful to you.

But for me, God’s presence is all I need. I have made the sovereign Lord my covering, as I spread everywhere all the things You accomplish.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 A Psalm of Asaph. Only -- good to Israel [is] God, to the clean of heart. And I -- as a little thing, My feet have been turned aside,

2 As nothing, have my steps slipped, For I have been envious of the boastful,

3 The peace of the wicked I see, That there are no bands at their death,

4 And their might [is] firm.

5 In the misery of mortals they are not, And with common men they are not plagued.

6 Therefore hath pride encircled them, Violence covereth them as a dress.

7 Their eye hath come out from fat. The imaginations of the heart transgressed;

8 They do corruptly, And they speak in the wickedness of oppression, From on high they speak.

9 They have set in the heavens their mouth, And their tongue walketh in the earth.

10 Therefore do His people return hither, And waters of fulness are wrung out to them.

11 And they have said, `How hath God known? And is there knowledge in the Most High?'

12 Lo, these [are] the wicked and easy ones of the age, They have increased strength.

13 Only -- a vain thing! I have purified my heart, And I wash in innocency my hands,

14 And I am plagued all the day, And my reproof [is] every morning.

15 If I have said, `I recount thus,' Lo, a generation of Thy sons I have deceived.

16 And I think to know this, Perverseness it [is] in mine eyes,

17 Till I come in to the sanctuaries of God, I attend to their latter end.

18 Only, in slippery places Thou dost set them, Thou hast caused them to fall to desolations.

19 How have they become a desolation as in a moment, They have been ended -- consumed from terrors.

20 As a dream from awakening, O Lord, In awaking, their image Thou despisest.

21 For my heart doth show itself violent, And my reins prick themselves,

22 And I am brutish, and do not know. A beast I have been with Thee.

23 And I [am] continually with Thee, Thou hast laid hold on my right hand.

24 With Thy counsel Thou dost lead me, And after honour dost receive me.

25 Whom have I in the heavens? And with Thee none I have desired in earth.

26 Consumed hath been my flesh and my heart, The rock of my heart and my portion [is] God to the age.

27 For, lo, those far from Thee do perish, Thou hast cut off every one, Who is going a whoring from Thee.

28 And I -- nearness of God to me [is] good, I have placed in the Lord Jehovah my refuge, To recount all Thy works!

Psalm 74:1-23 Instruction of Asaph.

God, why do you cast us away for ever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?

Remember your congregation, which you bought and redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage long ago. Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt.

Direct your steps to he continuous ruins; the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!

Your foes have resounded in the middle of your meeting place; they set up their own symbols for signs.

They were like lumberjacks in the woods.

And all its carved wood they fell with hatchets and hatches.

They set afire your sanctuary; they profaned the dwelling place of your name, bringing it down to the ground.

They said to themselves, “We will utterly concur them”; they burned all the meeting places of God throughout the land.

We do not see our symbols; there are no longer prophets, and there is none among us remembering for how long.

How long, God, is the foe to scoff and revile your name for ever?

Why do you hold back your right hand? Take it from the fold of your garment and destroy them!

God my King is ancient, working salvation here on earth.

You separated the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters.

You crushed the heads of the Leviathan; you gave this as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

You split open springs and brooks; you dried up ever-flowing streams.

You own the day and the night; you established the heavenly lights and the sun.

You fixed all the boundaries of the earth; you made summer and winter.

Remember, Lord, how the enemy scoffs, and a foolish people reviles your name.

Do not deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts; do not forget the life of your poor for ever.

Consider the covenant, for the shadows of the land are full of the habitations of violence.

Let not the humbled turn away shamed; let the poor and needy praise your name.

Arise, God, defend your cause; recall how the foolish scoff at you daily!

Do not forget the yelling of your enemies, who stand against you continually!

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 An Instruction of Asaph. Why, O God, hast Thou cast off for ever? Thine anger smoketh against the flock of Thy pasture.

2 Remember Thy company. Thou didst purchase of old, Thou didst redeem the rod of Thy inheritance, This mount Zion -- Thou didst dwell in it.

3 Lift up Thy steps to the perpetual desolations, Everything the enemy did wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 Roared have thine adversaries, In the midst of Thy meeting-places, They have set their ensigns as ensigns.

5 He is known as one bringing in on high Against a thicket of wood -- axes.

6 And now, its carvings together With axe and hatchet they break down,

7 They have sent into fire Thy sanctuary, to the earth they polluted the tabernacle of Thy name,

8 They said in their hearts, `Let us oppress them together,' They did burn all the meeting-places of God in the land.

9 Our ensigns we have not seen, There is no more a prophet, Nor with us is one knowing how long.

10 Till when, O God, doth an adversary reproach? Doth an enemy despise thy name for ever?

11 Why dost Thou turn back Thy hand, Even Thy right hand? From the midst of Thy bosom remove [it].

12 And God [is] my king of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 Thou hast broken by Thy strength a sea-[monster], Thou hast shivered Heads of dragons by the waters,

14 Thou hast broken the heads of leviathan, Thou makest him food, For the people of the dry places.

15 Thou hast cleaved a fountain and a stream, Thou hast dried up perennial flowings.

16 Thine [is] the day, also Thine [is] the night, Thou hast prepared a light giver -- the sun.

17 Thou hast set up all the borders of earth, Summer and winter Thou hast formed them.

18 Remember this -- an enemy reproached Jehovah, And a foolish people have despised Thy name.

19 Give not up to a company, The soul of Thy turtle-dove, The company of Thy poor ones forget not for ever.

20 Look attentively to the covenant, For the dark places of earth, Have been full of habitations of violence.

21 Let not the oppressed turn back ashamed, Let the poor and needy praise Thy name,

22 Arise, O God, plead Thy plea, Remember Thy reproach from a fool all the day.

23 Forget not the voice of Thine adversaries, The noise of Thy withstanders is going up continually!

Psalm 75:1-10 For the Music Director. “Do Not Destroy.” Asaph's song.

We praise you, God, your Name is near; people speak of your wonderful works.

You say, “I choose the perfect time; I judge with equity.

When the earth and all its people rattle, I who hold it all together. (Imagine)

To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.

Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak in defiance.’”

None from the east or west or from the desert can exalt themselves.

It is God who judges: He takes down one, he lifts up another.

In the Lord hand is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he spills it out, and all the wicked of the earth consume it down to the dregs.

As for me, I will announce to the end; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob, who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be uplifted.”

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 To the Overseer. -- `Destroy not.' -- A Psalm of Asaph. -- A Song. We have given thanks to Thee, O God, We have given thanks, and near [is] Thy name, They have recounted Thy wonders.

2 When I receive an appointment, I -- I do judge uprightly.

3 Melted is the earth and all its inhabitants, I -- I have pondered its pillars. Selah.

4 I have said to the boastful, `Be not boastful,' And to the wicked, `Raise not up a horn.'

5 Raise not up on high your horn, (Ye speak with a stiff neck.)

6 For not from the east, or from the west, Nor from the wilderness -- [is] elevation.

7 But God [is] judge, This He maketh low -- and this He lifteth up.

8 For a cup [is] in the hand of Jehovah, And the wine hath foamed, It is full of mixture, and He poureth out of it, Only its dregs wring out, and drink, Do all the wicked of the earth,

9 And I -- I declare [it] to the age, I sing praise to the God of Jacob.

10 And all horns of the wicked I cut off, Exalted are the horns of the righteous!

Psalm 76:1-12 For the Choir Director; on stringed instruments; a song by Asaph.

God is known throughout Judah. His name is great throughout Israel.

His tent is pitched in Salem. His home is in Zion.

Here he destroyed flaming arrows, shields, swords, and weapons of war. (Imagine)

You are the shining one. You are more grand than ancient mountains.

Brave people were robbed and died, so that no warriors lifted a finger.

At Your stern warning, God of Jacob, charioteers and steeds died.

You only must be feared! Who can stand in Your presence if You're irritated?

From heaven you announced a verdict. The earth remains fearful and silent

When you rose to judge, O God, you got up to being salvation for all oppressed person on earth. (Imagine)

Even angry mortals will salute You. You will wear the mark of their anger.

Make vows to the Lord God, and keep them. Let everyone around him bring gifts to the one who must be feared.

He reaps the influential. He terrifies earthly kings.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 To the Overseer with stringed instruments. -- A Psalm of Asaph. -- A Song. In Judah [is] God known, in Israel His name [is] great.

2 And His tabernacle is in Salem, And His habitation in Zion.

3 There he hath shivered arrows of a bow, Shield, and sword, and battle. Selah.

4 Bright [art] Thou, honourable above hills of prey.

5 Spoiled themselves have the mighty of heart, They have slept their sleep, And none of the men of might found their hands.

6 From Thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both rider and horse have been fast asleep.

7 Thou, fearful [art] Thou, And who doth stand before Thee, Since Thou hast been angry!

8 From heaven Thou hast sounded judgment, Earth hath feared, and hath been still,

9 In the rising of God to judgment, To save all the humble of earth. Selah.

10 For the fierceness of man praiseth Thee, The remnant of fierceness Thou girdest on.

11 Vow and complete to Jehovah your God, All ye surrounding him. They bring presents to the Fearful One.

12 He doth gather the spirit of leaders, Fearful to the kings of earth!

Psalm 77:1-20 For the Choir Director; according to Jeduthun; a song of Asaph.

Loudly, I cried to God --- and He heard me.

On the day I was troubled, I went to the Lord for help. At night I stretched out my hands in prayer endlessly. Yet, my soul took no comfort.

I sigh as I remember God. I begin to lose hope as I think about him. (Ponder that)

You keep my eyelids open. I am so upset that I cannot speak.

I have considered a time long past.

I remember my song in the night and reflect on it. My spirit searches for answers.

Will the Lord reject me for eternity? Will He ever accept me?

Has His mercy ended? Has His promise been canceled from here on?

Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has He locked up his compassion in anger? (Ponder that)

I said, "It makes me feel weak regarding changes of the right hand of the Most High."

I will remember the deeds of the Lord. I will remember Your ancient miracles.

I will reflect on all Your actions, and think about what you have done.

O God, your ways are holy! What god is as great as our God?

You are the God who performs miracles. You have made your power known among nations.

Your might defended Your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. (Ponder that)

The water witnessed You, God, and churned. Even to the ocean depths.

The clouds poured down. The sky thundered. Your arrows flashed in every direction.

The sound of your thunder rumbled across the sky. Streaks of lightning lit the world. The earth reverberated and shook.

Your road went through the sea. Your path went through rushing water, but your footprints were not seen.

Like a shepherd, You direct your chosen. You had Moses and Aaron take them by the hand.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. -- A Psalm of Asaph. My voice [is] to God, and I cry, my voice [is] to God, And He hath given ear unto me.

2 In a day of my distress the Lord I sought, My hand by night hath been spread out, And it doth not cease, My soul hath refused to be comforted.

3 I remember God, and make a noise, I meditate, and feeble is my spirit. Selah.

4 Thou hast taken hold of the watches of mine eyes, I have been moved, and I speak not.

5 I have reckoned the days of old, The years of the ages.

6 I remember my music in the night, With my heart I meditate, and my spirit doth search diligently:

7 To the ages doth the Lord cast off? Doth He add to be pleased no more?

8 Hath His kindness ceased for ever? The saying failed to all generations?

9 Hath God forgotten [His] favours? Hath He shut up in anger His mercies? Selah.

10 And I say: `My weakness is, The changes of the right hand of the Most High.'

11 I mention the doings of Jah, For I remember of old Thy wonders,

12 And I have meditated on all Thy working, And I talk concerning Thy doings.

13 O God, in holiness [is] Thy way, Who [is] a great god like God?

14 Thou [art] the God doing wonders. Thou hast made known among the peoples Thy strength,

15 Thou hast redeemed with strength Thy people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

16 The waters have seen Thee, O God, The waters have seen Thee, They are afraid -- also depths are troubled.

17 Poured out waters have thick clouds, The skies have given forth a noise, Also -- Thine arrows go up and down.

18 The voice of Thy thunder [is] in the spheres, Lightnings have lightened the world, The earth hath trembled, yea, it shaketh.

19 In the sea [is] Thy way, And Thy paths [are] in many waters, And Thy tracks have not been known.

20 Thou hast led as a flock Thy people, By the hand of Moses and Aaron!

Psalm 78:1-72 Asaph instruction.

Citizens, hear my instruction; listen to me.

I declare wise sayings; speaking mysteries from the past -- things we have heard and understood --- passed down to us.

We must never withhold such from their children, but must tell a future generation the praises of the Lord, His might, and the wonderful works He has performed.

He established a testimony through Jacob and set up a law through Israel, which He commanded our fathers to teach to their children so that a future generation (yet to come) might know.

So that they might put their confidence in God -- not forgetting God’s works, and keep His commands.

Then they would not copy their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose heart was not loyal and whose spirit was not faithful to God.

The Ephraimite archers turned back the day of battle.

They did not keep God’s covenant and refused to live according to His law.

They forgot what He had done, the wonderful works He had shown them.

He worked wonders in the sight of their fathers in Egypt, the region of Zoan.

He parted the sea and brought them across; the water pushed upright like a wall.

He led them with a cloud by day (providing even Shade) and with a fiery light throughout the night (providing even Warmth).

He split rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as abundant as the depths.

He brought streams out of the stone and made water flow down like rivers.

But they continued to sin against Him, rebelling in the desert against the Most High.

They deliberately tested God, demanding the food they craved.

They spoke against God, saying, “Is God able to provide food in the wilderness?

Look! He struck the rock and water gushed out; torrents overflowed. But can He also provide bread or meat for His people?”

The Lord heard and became furious; then fire broke out against the decedents of Jacob, and anger flared up against Israel because they did not believe God or rely on His salvation.

He gave a command to the clouds and opened the doors of heaven.

He rained manna for them to eat --- grain from heaven.

People ate the bread of angels. He sent them an abundant supply of food.

He made the east wind blow and drove the south wind by His might.

He rained meat on them like nothing, and winged birds like the sand of the seas.

He made them fall in His camp, all around His tabernacle.

They ate and were completely full, for He gave them what they asked.

Before they had satisfied their desire, while the food was still in their mouths,

God’s anger flared up against them, and He killed some of their best men. He caused to die Israel’s choice young men.

Despite all this, they kept sinning and did not believe His wonderful works.

He made their days end in futility, their years in sudden disaster.

When He killed some of them, the rest repented and searched for God.

They remembered that God was their rock and Redeemer.

But they deceived Him with their words.

Their hearts were insincere toward Him, and they were unfaithful to His covenant.

Yet He was compassionate; He atoned for their guilt and did not destroy them. He often turned His anger aside and did not unleash all His wrath.

He remembered that they were only human, a wind that passes and does not return.

How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness --- grieving Him in the desert.

They constantly tested and provoked the Holy One of Israel.

They did not remember His power shown on the day He redeemed them from the foe, when He performed His miraculous feats in Egypt and His wonders in the region of Zoan.

He turned their rivers into blood, and they could not drink from their streams.

He sent swarms of flies, which fed on them, and frogs, which devastated them.

He gave their crops to the caterpillar and the fruit to the locust.

He killed their vines with hail and their sycamore fig trees with a flood.

He handed over their livestock to hail and their cattle to lightning bolts.

He sent His burning anger against them: fury, indignation, calamity— a group of deadly messengers.

He cleared a path for His anger. He did not spare them from death but delivered their lives to the plague.

He struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the progeny of the linage of Ham.

He led His people out like sheep and guided them like a flock in the wilderness.

He led them safely, and they were not afraid; but the sea swallowed their enemies.

He brought them to His holy land, to the mountain His right hand acquired.

55
He drove out nations before them.
He apportioned their inheritance by lot and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.

But they rebelliously tested the Most High God, for they would not keep His decrees.

They treacherously turned away like their fathers; they became warped like a faulty bow.

They enraged Him with their pagan shrines and provoked His jealousy with their carved idols.

God heard and became furious; He rejected Israel.

He abandoned the tabernacle at Shiloh, the tent where He resided among men.

He gave up His strength to captivity and His splendor to enemies.

He surrendered His people to the sword because He was enraged with His heritage.

Fire consumed His chosen young men, and His young women had no wedding songs.

His priests fell by the sword, but the widows could not care.

The Lord awoke as if from sleep, like a warrior pained by the effects of wine.

He beat back His enemies; He presented them lasting shame.

He rejected the line of Joseph and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim.

He chose instead the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which He loved.

He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth that He established until eternity.

He chose David His servant from the sheepfolds.

He brought him from tending ewes to be shepherd over His people Jacob/Israel, His inheritance.

He shepherded those with a pure heart --- guided them with his skillful hands.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 An Instruction of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my law, Incline your ear to sayings of my mouth.

2 I open with a simile my mouth, I bring forth hidden things of old,

3 That we have heard and do know, And our fathers have recounted to us.

4 We do not hide from their sons, To a later generation recounting praises of Jehovah, And His strength, and His wonders that He hath done.

5 And He raiseth up a testimony in Jacob, And a law hath placed in Israel, That He commanded our fathers, To make them known to their sons.

6 So that a later generation doth know, Sons who are born, do rise and recount to their sons,

7 And place in God their confidence, And forget not the doings of God, But keep His commands.

8 And they are not like their fathers, A generation apostate and rebellious, A generation! it hath not prepared its heart, Nor stedfast with God [is] its spirit.

9 Sons of Ephraim -- armed bearers of bow, Have turned in a day of conflict.

10 They have not kept the covenant of God, And in His law they have refused to walk,

11 And they forget His doings, And His wonders that He shewed them.

12 Before their fathers He hath done wonders, In the land of Egypt -- the field of Zoan.

13 He cleft a sea, and causeth them to pass over, Yea, He causeth waters to stand as a heap.

14 And leadeth them with a cloud by day, And all the night with a light of fire.

15 He cleaveth rocks in a wilderness, And giveth drink -- as the great deep.

16 And bringeth out streams from a rock, And causeth waters to come down as rivers.

17 And they add still to sin against Him, To provoke the Most High in the dry place.

18 And they try God in their heart, To ask food for their lust.

19 And they speak against God -- they said: `Is God able to array a table in a wilderness?'

20 Lo, He hath smitten a rock, And waters flow, yea, streams overflow. `Also -- bread [is] He able to give? Doth He prepare flesh for His people?'

21 Therefore hath Jehovah heard, And He sheweth Himself wroth, And fire hath been kindled against Jacob, And anger also hath gone up against Israel,

22 For they have not believed in God, Nor have they trusted in His salvation.

23 And He commandeth clouds from above, Yea, doors of the heavens He hath opened.

24 And He raineth on them manna to eat, Yea, corn of heaven He hath given to them.

25 Food of the mighty hath each eaten, Venison He sent to them to satiety.

26 He causeth an east wind to journey in the heavens, And leadeth by His strength a south wind,

27 And He raineth on them flesh as dust, And as sand of the seas -- winged fowl,

28 And causeth [it] to fall in the midst of His camp, Round about His tabernacles.

29 And they eat, and are greatly satisfied, And their desire He bringeth to them.

30 They have not been estranged from their desire, Yet [is] their food in their mouth,

31 And the anger of God hath gone up against them, And He slayeth among their fat ones, And youths of Israel He caused to bend.

32 With all this they have sinned again, And have not believed in His wonders.

33 And He consumeth in vanity their days, And their years in trouble.

34 If He slew them, then they sought Him, And turned back, and sought God earnestly,

35 And they remember that God [is] their rock, And God Most High their redeemer.

36 And -- they deceive Him with their mouth, And with their tongue do lie to Him,

37 And their heart hath not been right with Him, And they have not been stedfast in His covenant.

38 And He -- the Merciful One, Pardoneth iniquity, and destroyeth not, And hath often turned back His anger, And waketh not up all His fury.

39 And He remembereth that they [are] flesh, A wind going on -- and it returneth not.

40 How often do they provoke Him in the wilderness, Grieve Him in the desolate place?

41 Yea, they turn back, and try God, And the Holy One of Israel have limited.

42 They have not remembered His hand The day He ransomed them from the adversary.

43 When He set His signs in Egypt, And His wonders in the field of Zoan,

44 And He turneth to blood their streams, And their floods they drink not.

45 He sendeth among them the beetle, and it consumeth them, And the frog, and it destroyeth them,

46 And giveth to the caterpillar their increase, And their labour to the locust.

47 He destroyeth with hail their vine, And their sycamores with frost,

48 And delivereth up to the hail their beasts, And their cattle to the burning flames.

49 He sendeth on them the fury of His anger, Wrath, and indignation, and distress -- A discharge of evil messengers.

50 He pondereth a path for His anger, He kept not back their soul from death, Yea, their life to the pestilence He delivered up.

51 And He smiteth every first-born in Egypt, The first-fruit of the strong in tents of Ham.

52 And causeth His people to journey as a flock, And guideth them as a drove in a wilderness,

53 And He leadeth them confidently, And they have not been afraid, And their enemies hath the sea covered.

54 And He bringeth them in unto the border of His sanctuary, This mountain His right hand had got,

55 And casteth out nations from before them, And causeth them to fall in the line of inheritance, And causeth the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents,

56 And they tempt and provoke God Most High, And His testimonies have not kept.

57 And they turn back, And deal treacherously like their fathers, They have been turned like a deceitful bow,

58 And make Him angry with their high places, And with their graven images make Him zealous,

59 God hath heard, and sheweth Himself wroth. And kicketh exceedingly against Israel.

60 And He leaveth the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent He had placed among men,

61 And He giveth His strength to captivity, And His beauty into the hand of an adversary,

62 And delivereth up to the sword His people, And with His inheritance shewed Himself angry.

63 His young men hath fire consumed, And His virgins have not been praised.

64 His priests by the sword have fallen, And their widows weep not.

65 And the Lord waketh as a sleeper, As a mighty one crying aloud from wine.

66 And He smiteth His adversaries backward, A reproach age-during He hath put on them,

67 And He kicketh against the tent of Joseph, And on the tribe of Ephraim hath not fixed.

68 And He chooseth the tribe of Judah, With mount Zion that He loved,

69 And buildeth His sanctuary as a high place, Like the earth, He founded it to the age.

70 And He fixeth on David His servant, And taketh him from the folds of a flock,

71 From behind suckling ones He hath brought him in, To rule over Jacob His people, And over Israel His inheritance.

72 And he ruleth them according to the integrity of his heart, And by the skilfulness of his hands leadeth them!

Integrity...? What! What does that mean...? Are you suggesting morals, ethics, character and integrity are actually important to God..? What! That has to be a typo, i don't get it...
