Good point. It's probably fool's gold.

I think it's possible that the Earth has experienced many makeovers and Adam and Eve were at the beginning of this current makeover. How many makeovers since creation itself? I don't know. Each one though I believe had human life created in the image of God. If one trusted the carbon dating theories etc. (I don't) then you may be able to surmise what remains here from before the beginning of this current dispensation which began some 6,000 years ago.

Hello GR33N!!

GR33N,

The dating methods of science are all based on uniformitarianism which I don't believe in. How can one believe in miracles and uniformitarianism at the same time? The thoughts are not compatible.

I also treat scripture as an eye witness account of the past. But we all bring into our reading prior assumptions which leads us to interpretations that may not be correct. This is why I try and bring more areas of scripture into play as I read one small section. The repeating pattern nature of scripture is there for a reason. I do believe we are to see patterns.

So what are your feelings about reincarnation? I feel it answers more things in scripture than most ideas. And as for the distractors, just ignore them.

The eyes of who?

Moses for the Exodus. Daniel for the captivity. Solomon for his regrets. David the same. The Apostles for Christ. John for his eye witness of the future. And more.

I have not spent a lot of time studying reincarnation. On the surface I think the concept of having multiple life experiences throughout eternity (spiritual/physical) may have some merit. I don't believe in multiple physical lives in different forms such as returning as a insect or an animal etc.
