Discussions of grammar are irrelevant to my point. We live in the twenty first century and no longer use seventeenth century English in everyday conversation...why should we use it when addressing God? That is my only point.

There is no need whatsoever from God's point of view.
If He exists He already knows what you want to say without it being verbalised.
Prayer spoken out loud is for the benefit of the people listening and therefore it should be in language they relate to.

you have just shown the distinction...it is not a notion of superior/inferior but in the manner at which you-yourself have to focus and be more deliberate with your thought and action when composing your pleadings.
It is a deliberate act to "step outside" of one's self and thus engage in the divine communication differently than say, texting your spouse or friend.

this is really not a difficult concept.

Or they might be thought of as a troubadour and be cast in a BBC series such as the Merry Wives of the Windsors.

I once met with a Stake Presudent. I offered the opening prayer using normal words like 'you' and 'your'. No sooner had I finished the prayer when the SP went into an explanation of which words I should be using instead of 'everyday' words.

I asked why, given that it was only him and I present and that God knew the intentions of my heart regardless of which words I used. He looked a little puzzled but offered no answer. I followed up with, are you sure it's not just that you that requires these changes because in France they don't have this type of problem.

He moved on, swiftly and he never challenged my word use again.
He was the only person ever to mention it and God remains silent on the subject.

i don't buy this...i have never "admired" anyone for their "prayer style" nor is this methodology intended only for public consumption.
Now ,if you have actual evidence, proof ,or CFR that this method is "completely about looking good in front of others" then post it, otherwise recognize that you are, at best, speculating - but most likely just hurling unjustified and empty opinion.

CFR
otherwise this fallacy
and this fallacy
thus your "myth" is not admissible and your point is lost.

I trust that, during Fast & Testimony meeting, every time someone says "I know the Church is true" you leap from the pew shouting "CFR, CFR..."

I don't need you to know wether or not I'm telling the truth.
