First Vision window in the Holy of Holies of the Salt Lake Temple, commissioned by the First Presidency in 1892. What started out as a window scene for Wilford Woodruff's personal pleasure has been set in stone in modern times through Thorvaldsen's Danish Christus that has been adopted by the Mormons as their official statue and logo.

Jesus comes out of his jar

Here we see Jesus comes out of his jar with new life and purpose and seems to be standing aloof in the natural clouds rather than being sliced through with razor sharp lines in the other design. The diagonal lines from the other logo intrude upon the very space of Christ's body and carve up the space behind him in an unnatural setting. One of those diagonal lines is like a laser beam cutting through the back of Jesus's skull. In any case, the line is an intrusion and should be removed, STAT.

This is what comes to mind when I look at the diagonal lines behind Jesus and the one that seems to smack him across the back of the head.

What do you think of the Church's new symbol?

The diagonal line running through Christ's neck needs to be removed. The line is inappropriate and should not make contact with the face or head of Divine Jesus. The Church has made a horrible mistake in doing this. It needs to be cut from the logo, STAT.

Get rid of the line! It gives me the chills.

This thread is ending and is being renewed and refined at the NEW BOARD. So far it's less offensive but will continue to examine critical elements of the logo.

The official LOGO is attached therein because of less stringent size requirements.
