Now, if your God knows, has predetermined, how; when; where, you will die then it really doesn't matter how you live your life. For instance, the chap who just did a sky dive from the edge of space. If he had plummeted to earth *splat* you would have claimed that God had predetermined that it was his time to go. The fact that he didn't means your God hadn't allocated that time and place and method to his death. Right?
And those people who were on those planes that were flown into buildings, that was God's doing as it was just 'part of the plan', right?

1. Everyone you or I may know may seek god in those final moments because we're in western culture. Religion is the only thing making claims on being able to cure the problem of death, and it's never been anything but lunacies. But I don't doubt at all when people are dying the overwhelming fear drives them to do crazy desperate things, like pray to Allah, the Hindu gods, or Jesus depending on where you live. In China they don't seek god when they die, I haven't seen anyone there die but I'd imagine it has more to do with ancestor superstitions.
To use the intense fear of death and desperation people experience in their dying moments as some smug sense of validation that Christianity is true is not only flawed, but as popular as it is in my opinion is somewhere between sick and disrespectful.

People die and go to hell every day thinking about no one but themselves their entire lives through. How smart they are, how good they look, how much money they can get, how famous they can become, what car they drive, how sexy they are to others and how well they perform... One might be rich and powerful and full of himself. It is only when one says to GOD, "I can do nothing without you, please help me." This is when God enters the picture and embraces that individual. Life is all about what GOD wants. The sooner one understands that, the sooner one will begin to mature. Until then ---- one just might just fully imagine that "Russians wins."
