I seem to remember that Mighty Curelom had a Two Cumorahs song that was brilliant.

They were all meant to be in good taste. Anyway, onward and upward - I am LDS by the way.

I know you are LDS. And it scares me I could be sitting next to you in Gospel Doctrine class and not know it!

LOL! Gotta love the Mok!

As I just posted, Satan triese to mimic God's plan. Because God's plan works. But the problem is Satan always relies on force. God's plan always relies on agency. If I don't want to make my 10% voluntary donation, there won't be any body knocking on my door and dragging me off to jail.

If God's plan works, why don't we see entire communities following the United Order? That's right. Without force, it doesn't work, and even with force, it doesn't work.

It's more of a subtle coercion.

The term "voluntary" takes on a different meaning when tied to eternity.

God's plan works according to the righteousness of the Saints. In the 200 years after Christ, the people lived such a law. Of course, all the bad guys had been killed off, so I am sure that gave them a headstart. Enoch's city lived it so well, they were taken from earth.

But it has been accomplished by righteous people.

You mean like the subtle coercion that if you want a car you have to earn money to buy it? That just because you want it doesn't mean someone will just give it to you for free?

Let's call this Exhibit A.

I guess the Saints just aren't as righteous as they used to be.

Actually, if you look at the DSS you will find the word defined as we do. We just went back to the real meaning of the word, which had been changed over time to mean perfect people who perform miracles.

Sure. Close your eyes, put your fingers in your ears, and shout "la-la-la-la" until the cows come home, but it won't change the truth.

If you include part of your group of "us" as murderes, robbers, cheats, adulterers, I guess you would be worried. But we include honest people of whatever religious denomination as the good people of the world.

You really have weird ideas about what is righteous. Must be all those years of living in socialism. Everyone I hang out with thinks the inquisitors, the SS, the KGB are bad guys. And the Danites? You mean the group of men acting like adolescents who were set on their ears as soon as Joseph Smith found out about them? Those Danites? What a chuckle.

Wait, there was a 200 year stretch of actual world history where there were no "murderes, robbers, cheats, adulterers?"

As for your comments on the Danites, I refer you to the LDS church archives (as well as numerous other libraries and archives across america wherein resides plenty o' primary sources as well as the scholarly works that draw on them). The history of the organization may be ambiguous (and partly purposely ambiguous) but it in no way resembles your description of it.
