Numbers 1:1-54 The Lord spoke to Moses in the Sinai desert, in the meeting tent on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they left Egypt. The Lord wanted the people numbered; writing down the names of every male, head by head, twenty years old and older. A man from each family should help. Each one should be the head of his father’s house. The names of the men who will help follows:
Shedeur’s son Elizur from Reuben
Zurishaddai’s son Shelumiel from Simeon
Amminadab’s son Nahshon from Judah
Zuar’s son Nethanel from Issachar, and Helon’s son Eliab from Zebulun
From the sons of Joseph there will be Ammihud’s son Elishama from Ephraim, and Pedahzur’s son Gamaliel from Manasseh
There will be Gideoni’s son Abidan from Benjamin
Ammishaddai’s son Ahiezer from Dan
Ochran’s son Pagiel from Asher
Deuel’s son Eliasaph from Gad, and Enan’s son Ahira from Naphtali
These were the ones chosen from the people. They were the leaders of their fathers’ families, the heads of thousands in Israel.

They did just as the Lord had told Moses. So he numbered them in the desert of Sinai.
The sons were numbered by their families, by their fathers’ houses, by the number of namesEvery male twenty years old and older was numbered, whoever was able to go out to war.
The number of the family of Reuben was 46,500.
The number of the family of Simeon was 59,300.
The number of the family of Gad was 45,650.
The number of the family of Judah was 74,600.
The number of the family of Issachar was 54,400.
The number of the family of Zebulun was 57,400.
The number of the family of Ephraim was 40,500.
The number of the family of Manasseh was 32,200.
The number of the family of Benjamin was 35,400.
The number of the family of Dan was 62,700.
The number of the family of Asher was 41,500.
The number of the family of Naphtali was 53,400.
The number of all the men was 603,550. Only the family of Levi would not be numbered as according to God's wishes.
The Levites take care of the meeting tent of the Law, and all that is in it, and all that belongs to it. They will carry the meeting tent and all that goes in it. They will take care of it, and set up their tents around it. When the meeting tent is to be moved, the Levites will take it down. When the meeting tent is brought to a place to stay, the Levites will set it up. If anyone else comes near, he must be put to death. The people of Israel will set up their tents by their own groups and armies, each man by his own flag. But the Levites will set up their tents around the meeting tent of the Law. Then no anger will come upon the people of Israel. The Levites must take care of the meeting tent of the Law.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first of the second month, in the second year of their going out of the land of Egypt, saying:

2 `Take ye up the sum of all the company of the sons of Israel by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names -- every male by their polls;

3 from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host in Israel, ye do number them by their hosts, thou and Aaron;

4 and with you there is a man for a tribe, each is a head to the house of his fathers.

5 `And these [are] the names of the men who stand with you: `For Reuben -- Elizur son of Shedeur.

6 `For Simeon -- Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

7 `For Judah -- Nahshon son of Amminadab.

8 `For Issachar -- Nathaneel son of Zuar.

9 `For Zebulun -- Eliab son of Helon.

10 `For the sons of Joseph -- for Ephraim: Elishama son of Ammihud: for Manasseh -- Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.

11 `For Benjamin -- Abidan son of Gideoni.

12 `For Dan -- Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

13 `For Asher -- Pagiel son of Ocran.

14 `For Gad -- Eliasaph son of Deuel.

15 `For Naphtali -- Ahira son of Enan.'

16 These [are] those called of the company, princes of the tribes of their fathers; they [are] heads of the thousands of Israel.

17 And Moses taketh -- Aaron also -- these men, who were defined by name,

18 and all the company they assembled on the first of the second month, and they declare their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names from a son of twenty years and upward, by their polls,

19 as Jehovah hath commanded Moses; and he numbereth them in the wilderness of Sinai.

20 And the sons of Reuben, Israel's first-born -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, by their polls, every male from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

21 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Reuben, are six and forty thousand and five hundred.

22 Of the sons of Simeon -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, its numbered ones in the number of names, by their polls, every male from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

23 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Simeon, [are] nine and fifty thousand and three hundred.

24 Of the sons of Gad -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

25 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Gad, [are] five and forty thousand and six hundred and fifty.

26 Of the sons of Judah -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

27 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Judah, [are] four and seventy thousand and six hundred.

28 Of the sons of Issachar -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

29 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Issachar, [are] four and fifty thousand and four hundred.

30 Of the sons of Zebulun -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

31 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Zebulun, [are] seven and fifty thousand and four hundred.

32 Of the sons of Joseph -- of the sons of Ephraim -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

33 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Ephraim, [are] forty thousand and five hundred.

34 Of the sons of Manasseh -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

35 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Manasseh, [are] two and thirty thousand and two hundred.

36 Of the sons of Benjamin -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

37 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Benjamin, [are] five and thirty thousand and four hundred.

38 Of the sons of Dan -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

39 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Dan, [are] two and sixty thousand and seven hundred.

40 Of the sons of Asher -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

41 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Asher, [are] one and forty thousand and five hundred.

42 [Of] the sons of Naphtali -- their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host --

43 their numbered ones, for the tribe of Naphtali, [are] three and fifty thousand and four hundred.

44 These [are] those numbered, whom Moses numbered -- Aaron also, and the princes of Israel, twelve men -- each for the house of his fathers, they have been.

45 And they are, all those numbered of the sons of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from a son of twenty years and upward, every one going out to the host in Israel,

46 yea, all those numbered are six hundred thousand, and three thousand, and five hundred and fifty.

47 And the Levites, for the tribe of their fathers, have not numbered themselves in their midst,

48 seeing Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

49 `Only, the tribe of Levi thou dost not number, and their sum thou dost not take up in the midst of the sons of Israel;

50 and thou, appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its vessels, and over all that it hath; they bear the tabernacle, and all its vessels, and they serve it; and round about the tabernacle they encamp.

51 `And in the journeying of the tabernacle, the Levites take it down, and in the encamping of the tabernacle, the Levites raise it up; and the stranger who is coming near is put to death.'

52 And the sons of Israel have encamped, each by his camp, and each by his standard, by their hosts;

53 and the Levites encamp round about the tabernacle of the testimony; and there is no wrath on the company of the sons of Israel, and the Levites have kept the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.

54 And the sons of Israel do according to all that Jehovah hath commanded Moses; so they have done.

Well then, so far there is nothing Mormon regarding the Bible. The Bible appears not to be a Mormon book or reveal anything Mormon in it's pages. But we shall see.
I can't wait till he gets to Jesus, who appears in both books.

Too Late!!! I already did it for him. And The Book of Mormon also Proclaims that Jesus Christ is the Eternal God.

Second Nephi Chapter 26, Verse 12:

2nd Nephi 26:12:

[12] And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews, that Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God;

Mosiah Chapter Three, Verses five through ten:

Mosiah 3:5-10:

[5] For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.

[6] And he shall cast out devils, or the evil spirits which dwell in the hearts of the children of men.

[7] And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.

[8] And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.

[9] And lo, he cometh unto his own, that salvation might come unto the children of men even through faith on his name; and even after all this they shall consider him a man, and say that he hath a devil, and shall scourge him, and shall crucify him.

[10] And he shall rise the third day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to judge the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men.

Mosiah Chapter Five, Verse 15:

Mosiah 5:15:

[15] Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen.

Exodus Chapter Three, Verses 11 through 15, Compared to John Chapter Eight, Verses 54 through 59:

Exodus 3:11-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

12 So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”

14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’

John 8:54-59 New King James Version (NKJV)

54 Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. 55 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”

57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Exodus 3:11-15 New International Version (NIV)

11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”

13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”

14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’

“This is my name forever,
the name you shall call me
from generation to generation.

John 8:54-59 New International Version (NIV)

54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”

57 “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”

58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” 59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

No fair jumping ahead.

Stick with Leviticus.

Where is Mormon in Leviticus?

That is the question.

Relent or perish.

By boredom, if need be.

In any event, I'm not sure why exactly the Book of Mormon should play into in any way Little Nipper's purpose in this thread. I am sure fans of the Book of Mormon won't agree but the Book of Mormon verses quoted above about Jesus seem to have a great deal of after the fact information that I personally don't find convincing.

If memory serves, the Nipper will run into the name "Nephi" upon reaching the Apocrypha.

I have a feeling that won't be convincing to the Nipper, though.

We shall see.

All the Best!

The Apocrypha is not quoted by either Christ or his Apostles. It certainly was not included as part of the Old Testament canon by the Rabbinical teachers & priests at Jerusalem prior to the time of Christ. It will not be included as scripture by me. Though it has some historial facts, it was and is considered by Jews and Evangelical Christians for its secular historic value only.
