Stop the presses, my Little Nipper.

Aaron is in the Book of Mormon.

And Moses is mentioned, too.

I will give it that. Plus, we really don't know who wrote all those books of the Bible. We do, however, know who wrote that other book. Not someone whose word I would trust.

I does say it was fashioned from pre-existing material. Gen. 1:1 shares the grammatical construct of the Enuma Elish, which describes God creating the world out of chaotic waters, as does Genesis.

The council was there. Gen. 1:26-27, Job 38:6-7.

Sorry dude, I have the dominant majority of Bible scholars on my side.

I suspect that the views consist of people reading the comments in between the Bible quotes. You're not telling anyone anything that they don't already know.

I fail to see the reason that LittleNipper is doing these posts at all. Isn't he aware that Mormon accept and read the Bible?

I think LittleNipper is fulfilling a dream that he feels might get him into heaven. He has found the one forum containing Mormons that won't ban him.

I'm quite sure he thinks that he is doing God's work. If he can lead just one of you from the evils of Mormonism and into what he thinks is the true light of God by posting the entire Bible, it will all be worth it.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

There was a movie in the 50s (black and white, as far as I remember) in which the main character used to read the whole constitution text in the congress - for temporization.

It's called a filibuster. A tactic used by minorities in our Senate to prevent legislation from passing that they don't favor. It's still done. It takes a 60% majority of votes to override it.

It's dumb.

You are quite correct in saying that LittleNipper is filibustering. It also makes clear that he is a very little nipper.

I think the movie is Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Moreover, the Young's Literal Translation (YLT) doesn't exist for Mormons.

The Only True Bible is the KJV only.
Other versions are not translated correctly.

Among other irreconcilable variances:
- in YLT there is no Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12)
- in YLT there is no Elias (30 different verse in New Testament)
- in YLT there is no celestial/terrestrial (1 Corinthians 15:40)

Edited typos...

LittleNipper wrote:Matthew 22:30 For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.

In other words, When believers come to heaven they will not marry and they will not be married. They will be just like the angels --- unmarried.

actually, that so often cited scripture is referencing the carnal aspects of this life...it is speaking of a mortal marriage...of what marriage meant in that context...that the life of mortals will be no more...marriage in the context of that verse had a significant temporal position....this verse is heavily "Jewish", in as much as there will also be no need for eating, drinking, procreation, etc...also note that the Saduccees did not believe in angels.
I think you are mistaken to use this scripture for the argument you are proposing.

nevertheless, a cursory understanding will show you that Mormon doctrine agrees with the sentiment of Matthew 22:30 wholeheartedly - temporal marriage is useless when the dead rise...our concern is more with celestial marriage...sealing.
