I really don't know what you're talking about. Roosevelt's problem was all the fellow travelers in his administration and government bureaucracy, not homosexuals.

Fellow travelers? I haven't heard that term since I was a little kid (a long time ago). How do you know how many gay people were involved in the Roosevelt administration? No one was out of the closet in those days. There is even pretty good evidence that Eleanor Roosevelt (his wife) had a long running lesbian affair with Lorena Hickok.

Maybe you picked the wrong President to use as an example.
