What does Mormonism do for you?

Why is it so essential that we have a Church to have the gospel. I have prayed about the gospel. And I do believe that I have received an answer that it is true. But I'm not sure I've ever gotten an answer about any specific Church. How is Church anything more than other men making money off the gospel?

Did they invent the gospel? Did they tell us anything we didn't know? We drove ourselves to Church. We gave the talks. We cleaned the building. What is Thomas Monson or even Billy Graham doing for us that he needs all this money in his name?

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
"And how shall they preach, except they be sent?" (Romans 10: 14-15)

And I add, how shall they be sent unless they are called by those with authority? This is one of many answers as to why the Church of Jesus Christ needed to be restored.

By the spirit perhaps? Shouldn't we all know the truth by the spirit anyway, without someone having to tell us?
