Re: My Heart On A Plate……Enjoy!
Thanks for writing all of that.
I was led through the links to reading the Dialogue article about Joseph Smith's grandson experimenting with peyote. I had never known about that before. It is always nice to learn something new.
I hope you are doing well. Share more with us when you can!
p.s. The Kirtland temple experiences sound a lot like datura to me. for what it's worth.

Do you believe that the Church, as it operates today, is a cult?
Re: My Heart On A Plate……Enjoy!
I think that all religions can be branded as "cultish" to a certain degree.
I do agree that Mormonism is more of a culture, or way of life, than a simple religion. So, in that sense, I see where you are coming from.
As a NOM, do you feel like you have found balance? Is your family still heavily involved in the Church? Is your spouse a NOM as well, or does she more TBM?

Ezias wrote:Nobody has responded much to my thread here, which means either people think it is too crazy or it is just too long and nobody wants to read the whole thing. That is fine by me, I wrote this all out for myself anyway, it has been very therapeutic to put my views and ideas in writing. Perhaps I should figure out how this blog thing works and record the evolution of my views there. I could easily write a book about my spiritual journey and adventures, so maybe blogging is a good way to start. Perhaps then I can put together in one place all of the credible source material that caused so many leaks in the dike, which subsequently led to my current world view.
Anywho, I feel this National Geographic article is appropriate to include here since this woman's experience mirrors my own in so many ways:

Well, I responded and you blew right past me as though I never had read through all of it and thanked you for it. for what it's worth.
